No one's disputing the historical accuracy of particular minutiae. We're rolling our eyes over this tired tactic of conjuring up a false assumption to further their preachy horseshit. That entire article is preachy horseshit. "Just because brothers of different races didn’t fight alongside each other doesn’t mean that players in the year 2017 shouldn’t inhabit and absorb all their experiences." What a doozy. It's now the responsibility of game creators to ensure this, nevermind that if someone really is interested in this perspective they can buy book(s) and go on whatever deep dive they want. The perspective we get is white man's war. No. It's that the war was god awful, and this is never further qualified because of the color of the skin/gender of the folks fighting it on either side. These authors are so consumed by race and identity politics that a game reveal can't even go by on Twitch without igniting their outrage. Give me a fucking break. |

" You see, I was browsing around these days and I saw an article that was talking about how black men are less likely to be diagnosed with autism when they are young. After reading a little I was wondering the causes for that, and I remembered an interview I think it was with Terry Crews where he said that in the black community they have this need to be tough and all that and how it's hard if you show weakness. That was the first conclusion that I had, that maybe the need to be viewed as a "tough guy", or a need to raise "tough boys" may influence the likeness of a black men seeking mental health for him or his children. But the first comment that I saw after this article was: "And there it goes *name of the site here* race-baiting again." I thought: How the hell do you solve a problem if people react that way? It was race related, because it was a problem that affected black people, but it wasn't about race vs race, black vs white. It's okay to talk about race and gender, it not okay to assume that every talk about race and gender is trying to push the "straight white male" under the bus. Some people are trying to push some of that bullshit, but there are real problems that you can't address or try to solve if you can't speak about race or gender or whatever. Edit: " I wrote that before seeing your comment. I don't like liberal people that exploit race/gender and etc for their own gains in politics either, that video of pelosi telling a dude to say out loud to a crowd that he was muslim was nauseating. But I do think that talking about race/gender/religion is necessary sometimes and I also think it's very productive when the people that are discussing are reasonable.
