Donald Trump and US politics
There's quite a gap between shit like that and a sensible pro life stance, i.e. being against abortion if the baby can be delivered safely and adopted (generally 4.5+ months).
What's currently happening in the US and Canada is all the way extreme at the opposite end, where a woman can abort for any reason at any time, and if an abortion fails (i.e. if the baby is still living and viable when it's removed), the doctors are powerless to stop the abortion (depending on state/hospital policy) and leave it in a bucket/medical pan/tray until it dies. It's not that often we see late stage abortions (5-10%) but the entire mainstream abortion debate would effectively stop if we added legal restrictions on the abortion process itself based on fetus viability if it were immediately delivered. Essentially, change the procedure for abortions after 4 months in cases where the mothers life isn't at risk: induce labor without harming the fetus, deliver it, place it in an incubator. Pregnant individuals can still abort at any time for any reason (no change to their rights), but at least the fetus would have a chance and doctors and nurses wouldn't have to deal with some really horrifying shit (most hospitals try to avoid staff trauma by terminating the fetus in-utero). But a sensible policy here won't sufficiently distract the masses from other issues. We have to parade crazy people around instead. Holy shit this article:
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-plans-donate-salary-pledge/story?id=46102984 Not only do they ignore the fact that he's obligated to take the salary, they also go full "wtf i hate charity now". Very fake news. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Time to bait trump into signing an legal contract with "We don't believe you" meme. How can you be sure the president will donate his money otherwise? :p |

" Question. Do you actually take Trump at his word when says he's gonna donate the money? ...Why? And on a side note, deadline came and went for the DoJ to provide evidence that Trump was wiretapped by Obama. The DoJ is asking for more time. Why Trump tweeted this before he had evidence, or why he doesn't just declassify any documents he has that would easily prove this happened is a mystery only to those bizarre people who still take Trump at his word about literally anything. Meanwhile, while this is going on, Trump's state department is essentially a hollow shell that can't do its job, because Trump has neither employed anyone for most of the positions nor allowed the job to be delegated to Tillerson himself. Ah, the CBO report is in on the American Health Care Act. The result: 24 million people are projected to lose their healthcare in the next 10 years because of this bill. Deficits go down and the markets become more stable, though, so I guess that's something.

Unshown is how many people would lose healthcare due to cost within the next decade (and be paying an ever increasing fine for failure to purchase). For people facing 30%+ premium raises this year alone, the time of getting priced out is pretty fucking nigh.
--- I'm not a fan of Ryancare/Trumpcare/Republicare but I don't see any way out of this cost crisis no matter what we do. It's not very well understood why productivity is climbing but the costs of important things are outpacing inflation by 4-10x -- housing, public education, college education, and healthcare. Focusing just on healthcare, moving to single payer (the current most cost efficient strategy in the world by looking around) would help, but it wouldn't even solve the problem. Healthcare costs in, say, Finland, are 40% that of the US per capita, but in the last 40 years in Finland, the cost of healthcare has gone up by a factor of ~8. I keep getting the niggling feeling that w.r.t. healthcare, nobody wants to purchase an inferior good at a cheaper price. Even if it was available, which it absolutely isn't, people wouldn't line up to get "the best cancer treatment of the 1980s at 1/10th the current price". We are reducing the cost of things, but we're also inventing less-risky-but-much-more-expensive things at a faster rate. (And then there's the multipliers of grift ($700 bags of saline), greed (double digit million dollar salaries for execs), and charity (people with money subsidize healthcare for those without in the ER) on top of that.) |

The FBI official behind the Clinton emails debunked 'quid quo pro' scandal started receiving payments from Michael Flynn 11 days before the story broke. Continued to take a total of $28,000 over 2 months.
Let's get this laid out here. The FBI official at the centre of a Clinton scandal which ran just before the election and was later walked back, was being paid by the member of the Trump campaign team with ties to Russia, who lied about meetings, was later fired from his cabinet post and also found to be a foreign agent to Turkey. The deeper we go. Casually casual. Last edited by TheAnuhart#4741 on Mar 14, 2017, 4:37:38 AM
