I always think you're Scrotie because of your avatar and think to myself "when did Scrotie go batshit cr... ohhh".

Yeah that just happened to me too. Side-effect of a forum with a few preset avatars, I guess.

Well it was a damm good speech

Speech was so good that all the 20+ anti Trump subreddits are dead right now with none of them on the front page (usually you can always find at least 3-4 on it). Literally the same thing happened after Hillary collapsed on 9/11 last year. The minions were waiting for orders and the shilling on Reddit stopped for a day.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

This is why republicans keep working the refs. Because it keeps working.

At this point, the news networks are basically looking for any positive thing they can say about Trump, to try to deflect the constant accusations of bias and "fake news". And given the absolute dearth of what they've had to work with, they've lowered their standards for what counts as "good" so far that a single speech where Trump doesn't go completely off the rails qualifies him for high praise. This speech wasn't as good as the average Obama speech, and contained considerably more falsehoods. I don't recall the media slobbering and slavering after every one of Obama's speeches, but at this point we've set the bar so fucking low that if Trump can stay on topic and read a pre-written speech from a teleprompter without diverging into how awesome his electoral college win was, that somehow counts as a major victory. So hooray for low standards, I guess?

He did a wonderful job... Regardless of his downfalls we must follow him and support him as our president.

Hahahaha!

You, Ray, and the YouTube channel didn't notice the hidden jab in the "complements" at the beginning of the video. "Short political career," eh? That's not a compliment, merely disguised as one. Kind words through grinding teeth.

That was the best presidential speech of the last 30 years, easily. And by "best" I mean from the standard of popularizing the agenda presented by the speaker, not how much you individually liked it. The Dems will take years to recover.

As said: why do they keep working the refs? Because it keeps working. The media was so eager to be kind to Trump that they were willing to prop up a thoroughly average, thoroughly inaccurate speech as though it was "I have a Dream".

Yeah, that's the takeaway.

Your hatred and bitterness are so palpable. It's really too bad that you're so very worked up over what has been described as a positive moment for the country.

Problem (for them) is, what President Trump says he's going to do isn't what they want him to do, and he's not the one they want doing it, in the first place. Their sudden outpouring of praise (grudging or otherwise) isn't due to a sea-change of admiration for the President; it's more likely due to a dawning realization that they (the media) aren't being perceived as the good guys in this movie. President Trump gave them an excuse to say some nice things about him; now they'll wait and see what it does to their own sociopolitical capital.

The impulse to be respected and admired will war with their ideological impulses. Gonna be fun to watch. =^[.]^=
