keep modifications similar item level



You guys got a little off topic I think. So I figured I would bring some levity to the situation.

Back on the original topic, I think they (GGG) could be a little sympathetic to your plight OP hell even I feel like it could use a bit of balance nothing like having an amazing item rolling it for more stats and getting a minimum roll. But therein lies the reason it exists as it is. A small change here could account for a huge influx of "perfect items"

I think "Let GGG do all the balancing, as long as OP's suggestion is done" is a good suggestion :P

If you do that, you will have accomplished nothing but to lower the gap between the best gear and the worst gear. You will have given yourself less to work towards.

Not if GGG balance it correctly!
If they balance it correctly, there will be no "lower gap" between best gear and worst gear and everything else will be the same.

See? That suggestions beats everything :P

Let me see if I can explain myself properly and come to an understanding of what you want.

You want to remove the lower tier of gear, right? This will subsequently raise the average quality of gear. To compensate, you then want them to make the game harder which will normalize the increased challenge.

If you do that, you're reducing the gap between higher tiers and lower tiers (by definition) and you're reducing the power that higher tiers have over the current content. You're essentially nerfing everything at the higher tiers while doing nothing to the lower tiers. You are artificially making everyone stronger below a certain point, but you're making the game harder overall and thus will require the additional help from the new average gear mark. You would be giving yourself less to work towards. I'm not sure how that's a positive change.

you claim I dont read anything you post, yet you dont seem to be reading anything anyone else posts either, because when hes mentioning that if they balance it properly to avoid changing getting higher ranked gear, hes refering to the weighting the rolls. so that the higher ranked gear or your "godly" gear still has the same chance of getting it as it is already is now. so that wont change, but getting the decent gear is more accessable since it'll get weighted heavier without having to get the really really shitty rolls where its no better than having an empty mod.

You missed the point.
If "decent gear" becomes so easy to obtain, then either the game will be much easier, or will have to be made more difficult to compensate.
Either way, the gap between godly gear and average gear is much smaller, and as he puts it there would be "less to work towards" since the relative strength increase of getting the godly gear is much smaller, regardless of how hard it is to get.
