GGG WHY POE TRADE?

1. The most important change to make, that I think would solve 99% of complaints people have with trading, is accurate status information (the ability for XYZ to determine if players are online/offline/AFK/DND/etc. so as to eliminate time wasted trying to trade with AFK players).
2. The only other potential change I would like to see is the integration of the Poe.trade system into the game, rather than having to access it through a web browser. Beyond that, trade is fine IMO.

The reality is that as someone who trades A LOT, 99% of trades go like this:
1. I paste whisper message from poe.trade
2. get invited by seller to party
3. go to hideout
4. trade
5. "ty ss"
6. "ty ss"
7. Leave party/seller's hideout

The 1% that does not go like that is of course frustrating, but anyone who tries to say that the vast majority of their trade interactions don't go like that is either lying, exaggerating, or has a very small sample size.

I agree, but I don't see the need to stop playing in order to sell low currency items.

I just don't get it, we pay for premium tabs, so we can sell items right away, which are then listed on a (3rd PARTY WEBSITE) why not just buy out the poe trade guys and implement something into the game, forcing people to use a 3rd party website, is just plan wierd, and when something like this happens-(poe trade goes down), you have to expect people to come to THIS forum to complain about it, GGG, just buy them out already and do something with it IN game. just my 2 "Pence" worth, yes im from the UK :D

Give me your opinions guys please.

It's mutually beneficial. They get to sell their premium tabs and also keep their hands clean of everything that happens on POE trade and the guy running it gets whatever revenue of all the traffic on his website.

The only difference between an actual AH and poe.trade is you gotta have a premium stash tab (if you wanna sell)

This is just flat out wrong. You can still sell without premium tabs.
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

pretty much.
the REAL difference is in the automation.

Auction House --
*person puts up item and forgets about it
*buyer buys item with no need for "face to face" interaction with the seller
*funds are either distributed directly to the seller with them receieving message logs about their items selling or their funds remain in the AH waiting for them to collect which also serves as a reference for them to know they sold the items.

PoE Barter --
*person puts up item in stash tab (see notes)
*buyer says hey i want to buy item at 10% less
*seller says ok
*people meet and trade

note: after stash tab they have to set the item for sale and the price! which if it is a premium tab can be easily done by setting it as public and setting the cost either for the whole tab or individually. if you have standard tabs though then you have to resort to the old methods of forum shops and using things like acquisition.

tbh i was thinking just today "why would anyone still be using forum shops and acquisition when premium tabs are so easy?". i guess if it works for you and is something you are use to doing then run with it. right? its just so much more work.

----------------------

on that note i dont understand why they dont just make something like PoE Trade inside their game. which im being totally serious here. it doesnt have to be a full auction house. however a search engine to look up who is ONLINE and SELLING their goods to be able to contact them would go a long way. if GGG did it on their side of things i am sure it would function better with their own stuff and they could do a good bit of things with it.

That's not a solution.
props to this thread; I did not know there was a whisper feature to copy from poe.trade! that much easier!
^
Would be even easier if it existed inside of the game.

Well give GGG as many years as Eve Online's been around for and maybe Path of Exile'll have tools of the same quality.

I first played EVE Online in 2008. The game was five years old back then and already had excellent tools. Path of Exile is now three years old, and the only trading improvement has been the introduction of public stash tabs. GGG needs to pick up the pace if they want to match EVE's quality in two years.
1. Put AH ingame
2. Give bought items a cooldown until they can be relisted/traded (from 24h up at least, maybe tie it to price/item rarity so flipperinos can't play ah game or at least without delay)
3. Put limitations like 10 trades(buy/list) from AH per day like they did in Warframe(individual trading still limitless, it just makes it so you can't take an item and relist it).
4.Make separate AH for currency with no limitations since raw currency is hard to flip.
5.????
6.Profit
