I feel like introducing a cooldown upon winning such a Jewel might be a fair way of allowing multiple persons to acquire one.
As in preventing a Jewel-winner from getting another one for X days.
Rewarding the top 3 entries might also be a nice way to make these Jewels more accessible, maybe even coupled with the beforementioned cooldown.
Guess you are kind of "spot on" here. If GGG wants to make those ladders appealing for many players they could just make the jewels a "max once per player per league/season" thing. They would have to mark the players who already got one on the ladder though so that other people can see how strong the competition is.
But I think there should be an unlimited "formal" reward for the top racer (like the demigod stuff) and a more practically useful reward for the "unwashed masses".
Although I disagree with posters here using the words "fair" and "unfair" in this context. If somebody has the skills and dedication for being #1 they "deserve" the rewards.
And as I pointed out already this "monopoly" could be circumvented by anybody with dedication and just some skills - using the HC ladder.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Last time i checked it sold for like 10ex or so, considering a build that uses them is going to stack them 10x or so, it's simply not cost efficient for the results those specific builds have.
These jewels are limited to one per character. :-P

Lmao, i only checked poe trade at the time when i wanted to make that char.
R.I.P. that draft, fucking glad i didn't invest and leveled it hah!
Thanks a bunch Tremere for pointing that out, you saved me a bunch of time and most likely disappointment.
What a dumb thing to forget to check.

You have the option to make whatever type of character you think is best for the lab if you desire. Don't act like you're being held back from competing because you don't have that build already. Obviously different builds vary in effectiveness for the lab ladder, as they should. The only way your point would be valid would be if you had to pay to unlock the pathfinder class.
All another build except pathfinder has a same lab's speedrun result around 3-4 minutes for Merci and 4-5 minutes for Uber. Except that pathfinder can do it x2 faster. Very competitive.
Why i shall play pathfinder? I do not want to. I prefer to play something that have some references to 'being wise' or 'being glorious' rather than 'being a huntard' or 'being a druggy'.

The thread is about whether or not lab ladders are fair, which they are. It doesn't matter how much better one class is unless there is unequal access to it. If you personally don't want to play it, then that's your problem and not an issue with "fairness." Your concerns about balance are off topic but not without merit, I guess.

Then you shall check labyrinth ladder and find a reason why it is called 'UNFAIR'. Following by, you probably will understand how it DOES matter and why my concerns are not off-topic. Yes i personally do not want to wear a costume that doesnt suit me SINCE i have a choice option and this is not my problem this is my preference, despite of both YOUR and GGG atempts make everyone play this META abomination.

This is getting circular because your definition of fair is incorrect. It would still be fair even if literally all classes except pathfinder were disqualified from entering into the lab leaderboards as a rule or if all other classes had 36 hours added to their times. As long as every human person gets the same rules applied to them it's fair.

That still allows to keep it in a stash in large quantities, right?
What will happen if a character that has been rewarded by speedrun jewel reward meanwhile he already has one? It will be deleted or placed in a stash?

It is unfair since ladder says than ONLY pathfinder can make speedrun x2 faster than rest 20+ classes.

Last time I checked all players had access to pathfinder.
