64bit client crashing on startup

Just I have created my account to post here:
64bit client does not work from Steam, it directly crashes. Creating a shortcut in the desktop with the 64bits launcher all seem to work well but on exit all falls in a black screen. Nothing to do to recover the computer. I must to reset my PC with the button on the tower. If I use the 32 bits version from Steam all seems to work well but, alas, freezes on exit. I should close the program with Ctrl+Alt+Del My computer has W10 Pro 64 bits and an AMD7970 GPU. It is perfectly compatible with Direct11. Any Solution? |

32bit is very nice, no problem, great improvement.
64bit crashes immediately. i7 950 / X58A-Ud3R / 16GB RAM / GTX770 / Win 10 64 Windowed runs fine (beautifully in fact), Adaptor setting is greyed out in Graphics menu. Crashes immediately when change to fullscreen 4k (crashes immediately irrespective of resolution). I had exactly this error in Win 7 with 32 bit client and same hardware, was resolved when win 10 upgrade was applied.

I can confirm that if I run PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe from the SteamApps/common/Path Of Exile folder that the 64bit client works, where as running it via steam causes it to crash at startup

So I posted some of this earlier on Page 4 .. but here's my results (I have a work around working for me)
Details: I am running Windows 7 64 bit with an Intel i7-4770 CPU and nvidia gtx 1070 GPU I am running the directly downloaded client, NOT through Steam. 1. I was getting the OP's error exactly. 2. I tried to download and install the Windows 7 Direct X 11 compatibility update from microsoft, but it said I already had that installed. 3. So I ran the 32 bit client and switched from fullscreen to windowed fullscreen mode (this client is called the Direct X 9 client by some posters) 4. Then I ran the 64 bit client as administrator ... worked just fine. So for me the fix is, don't use Fullscreen mode, use Windowed Fullscreen! Good luck! |

Crashes for me on startup with if i have the game on fullscreen, if I set the game to window in the normal client and then start the 64 client it works but whenever i try to set it back to fullscreen it crashes again.

My PC setup is core2duo e8500, gtx 650ti and 6Gb of ram. When I`m using 32-bit version game works fine, but in 64-bit mode game starts with black screen and this message: "Failed to create d3d11Device, your hardware is not Dx11 compatible." Then instantly throwing a crash report. Launching game 64bit in windowed-fullscreen or windowed modes benefits nothing. Need help. | |
