GGG & Priorities
" As long as the spam itself remains, the dots remain justified. People are spamming the dots because the actual spam is clogging up the game screen. Fear the army of dots:

GGG uses a homebrew engine that is pure DirectX; creating an OpenGL version would require rewriting huge chunks of the engine. Previously GGG said that porting to an existing commercial engine (would get openGL for 'free'; and would almost certainly perform much better because of the money AAA companies can throw at optimizing the core and making developer tooling) would be at least a year or two of work if they completely stopped creating new leagues/etc for the existing engine. That's obviously too high an opportunity cost.
GGG is working on a 64bit client (ETA currently unknown). That should help with any memory problems you're having (or if it's a driver bug leaking to blame at least let you play longer before the game gets unplayable because you're starting to swap). Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? |

" Rendering code shouldn't be that large. And since vulkan is there to replace OpenGL, it would be better to use that. The only thing not supported would be Macintosh, because Apple went full retard. But vulkan is made to perform better and has better multithreading support. This change should benefit both windows users and would allow the port to Linux. I've run the list before, apart from D3D, their middleware has Linux support. It really should not be that big of a deal. " The crashes started happening with the atlas release. Before that the engine was much more stable; and this issue generally doesn't happen in other games. Fear the army of dots:

" Unless you have an actually insight ( like contacts ) in of GGG's codes and processes, there is no way that you could know such a thing. Potying to Vulkan does seem like a huge job, probably very time consuming. If linux was a profitable business for gaming companies, most game would already run on it. It's not the case. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

So you got muted for 24 hours for spamming. I suspect this wasn't your first mute.
You can try and justify your spamming anyway you want, but spamming for any reason is against the rules. We fight to delay the end because it's the means that matter.

Actually it was my first mute.

Sorry but you and others like you need to be muted for spamming crap. It makes no sense whatsoever to create more spam in a channel when a bot spams crap. No matter how you look at it.. you are just as bad as the spam bots but worse. Worse cause you think it is justified in some way which it is not. Spam is spam no matter who does it. I don't want to see your spam,my dogs spam or anyone else's spam ffs in global chat.

And I don't want to see the spambots' spam or GGG's spam. And the dot spam removes the spambots' spam from view... Allowing me to play the game without dying. So it sure as hell is justified.

" Because seeing dots instead of a spam bot => no dying ? what ? SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" +1'd " If chat is killing you, how about you turn it off? Crazy idea right? Couldn't just setup a quick macro for the "/clear" command could you? Nope, that would only help you and keep others from seeing your fucking ".". Gotta do it in an obnoxious way... Too bad that if you are a habitual spammer they don't just permanently mute you. You can justify it to yourself all you want, the fact that you got muted just goes to show you're in the wrong. So by all means keep it up, that just means one less spammer in the chat for the next 24 hours. :) Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.
