Step 1: Release content update on Friday evening American time so that everyone that is getting home from work has a fair chance at progressing in the new league.

Step 2: Go on vacation for the weekend because all of your company's untested software project goals have been met on release day.

Step 3: Fail to respond or even acknowledge most of the problems on the technical support forum presented by the small fraction of frustrated users that cannot play.

Step 4: Post information about new MTX content when your current patch is a failure and problems have barely been addressed.

Step 5: ???

Step 6: Profit.

Even if you could get into the game, you would probably end up experiencing the myriad of other performance issues plaguing the launch of this patch and it would frustrate you to the point of doing something else.

It's Monday morning now in NZ so I hope for a solution in the next few hours.

Hope dies last!

Understand the frustration (I'm also fucked up atm), but:

1. Well, this game is played worldwide, they themselfs come from NZ.
There is no good release time for all, never.

2. They are all humans, most with normal contracts. I know (from former issues over the years) that a bunch of people working throug the whole WE, especially by problems on leagues starts. Sure, not all, but you wanna release main content at the beginning of the week? I don't.

3. They respond if they have final solutions again. They responded already (spare, but at the beginning of this thread e.g.). Be sure they working on that.

4. Well, MTX Announces have nothing to do with gameplay or bug issues.
I know, it somtimes seems awkward, but that things are made and ready and timelined for release way longer before the new legue starts.

Stay tuned!

I use Windows 7 64-bit and I guess like most people who experienced the client crashing, had Windows updates off.
Then I went ahead and installed some updates:

Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.256
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3163589)
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932)
Update Rollup for ActiveX Killbits for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2562937)
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932)

PoE working now just fine.
No idea which of the updates did the trick. But it doesn't look like GGG has anything to do with our client crashing.

...and there couldn't be a more awkward time to try and siphon money out of the playerbase than when the game is experiencing a bunch of problems that were introduced just moments before new exciting MTX announcements. How about focusing all development attention on resolving the issues, gathering all the necessary information, and triaging the quagmire of blunders via forum support first so that I might be able to thankfully repay our hosts for their fastidious approach to problem resolution when I am able to get back into the game?

Well, it's a bit like you blame the petrol producer if something going wrong with your car.
The guys who do the MTX stuff have nothing to do with the game developement. They're doing completly different stuff and could help with that even if they wanted to.
