I can clear the map as a melee tank, after the block nerf it is easy.
This sceptre easily kills the es regen tanks, and I have 0% spell damage on gear or tree.

The map is easily beat once you learn the mechanics to do it. The question that needs answered though is it meant to only be beaten with Scorching Ray?

I think the way they change the map for the masses is just making the boxes at the end of the hallways have a timer to open, remove the shields that block the Grandmasters, make them much more aggressive (meaning they are triggered when you are within max projectile range), and make them all charge the chest if anyone is trying to open it (no matter how far away they are).

That makes the map at least accessible for folks who don't want to break out Scorching Ray as a workaround to the trolls.

And before anyone says that's ripping off those that bought the Grandmaster, I wouldn't feel that way (though I haven't put mine in yet).

The key items I use is the sceptre with Scorching Ray, Anti-Curse flask and Blood Magic gem against the cannot-be-leeched-from characters.

Being imbalanced is kind of the idea. It's there for those that want to go into the storm and try to make it out the other side. It's part of the appeal of making a Grandmaster, and those who want the thrill of fighting enemies that are not cookie cutter hordes charging mindlessly with their auto attack.

If it were a mandatory area, then I would agree.
