A versioning problem ? Are you serious ? Religions doesn't work like that lol

Uh, yes it does. Are you even aware that the current wars in Syria & Iraq are almost completely sectarian, for example? Sunni muslims vs Shia muslims. Clearly two versions fighting it out.

There's many versions of Islam, some worse than others. Most of the islamic terrorist organizations (and there's a whole lot of them - way more than all other religions combined) follow a sunni salafist ideology, which is also the official religion in Saudi Arabia - the same Saudi Arabia that is funding mosques in Europe, including France.

With the blessing of our leaders, Saudis are funding the ideology that is killing Europeans on our soil.

Oh you mean different muslim branch that arn't recognized has beeing legit for the large part of them i see where you come from i miss understood what you mean in previous post sorry.

Well actualy while ISIS is coming from some of these branch ( not sure about the appropriate word i should use i'm not native ) what they are doing is against Quran it's also against direction muslim try to take since decades so basicaly they are claiming they are while largest part consider them as extremist and secte.

We can play with words but all muslims i know will say it: Those guys are just assholes aiming for power / business / hate / and control.

Can't enter into much more detail since i don't have much more knowledges about this religion ( or nothing i can add to this thread ).

Anyways this discussion won't end before a while we are facing problem in France resulting of these attacks that are not going to be solved anytime soon.
Since i don't have any religion i can't pray for Nice victims i'm just glad friends and family from there are fine and wishe best of luck and courage to all victims.
That's sadly all i can do ^^

Pretty funny, never seen you being outraged when the exact same shit is pulled on the gun argument that this is a parody of.

nailed it. Not poking fun at tragic events at all.

Agreed. The thread is more of a sarcastic take on the mentality that continues to allow these tragedies to happen - by diverting attention away from the problem and trying to use the public sentiment to build support for a completely different issue.

The current mindset of the mentality is that gun control is the only thing we need to focus on.

Trucks, axes, beheading swords, drowning people in cages, burning people to death in cages, stoning people to death with rocks - all tie in with a problem that gun control won't solve.,

Whether gun control will help with crimes cause by mentally unstable people (which is a valid perspective on some of the recent events) or street crime in general is an wide open debate. Nothing in that perspective of debate merits taking away consideration of what is indeed a major problem worldwide.

People are being slaughtered by the thousands because of the problem. If someone doesn't think that is worthy of discussion, then I think others can judge that for themselves easily enough.

That many people find such topics uncomfortable, overheated, too full of strong opinions, depressing or otherwise not to their emotional liking I can understand - especially in a gaming forum. People generally play games to have fun, not look at real world events that are distressing.

I participate in these topics, because I respect differing opinions. No matter how much I may feel or think someone is wrong on a given aspect of a post, it doesn't mean I value their thinking less, nor that they might actually be correct, and my thinking on the subject wrong.

The perspective from people who live in other countries is something I find very educational. It is tough to step outside of what you know and were raised thinking, but comments from others who come from what might be a vastly different background can be enlightening.

TL/DR - I don't think the thread or the posts are mocking the tragedy. Once you've seen those bodies strewn in the street, you can't unsee them, and you can only imagine the utter anguish those involved feel.

There are limited ways we can actually help some of these people. We shouldn't be limiting the way we try to prevent future tragedies, and THAT is what the thread is about - imo.

I am sad about news out of Nice and the truck that did so much damage..70+ kills in an instant ...it took Orlando shooter four hours to rack up 50 kills with a AK47..

I'm saddened that one person can destroy the lives of so many. Seems all you need is a key to a truck or car. My issue is the accessibility of obtaining a truck or car. It's extremely easy... For $30-70 you can leave a rental shop fully armed. With little training AND NO BACKGROUND CHECK.

Whether we ban Cars and truck, whether we decide to equip everyone with a with a car or truck... How do we avoid mass drivings? No one yet has a reasonable solution. What goes through a persons thought process to commit such horrors? This is why I'm not a psych major... It's never been a curiosity of mine of how humanity has evolved to be so unpredictable.

It's disgusting that you felt a need to mock a thread and poke fun at horrific events. You're exploiting people's misery in order to troll? That's quite frankly disgusting and shame on anyone else who felt a need to participate in this thread. (The exception would be for those that are unaware) As a matter of fact you give me no choice but to report you not only to GGG but to authorities.

I am asking GGG moderators to lock this thread ASAP I will be calling the proper people and authorities. Let this be a profound lesson to anyone that feels a need to exploit or poke fun at countless lives lost because of a sick person or fanatical group.

I've been on these forums for years never have I've come across such a cold hearted and demented thread.

I used your template to ask same question you asked about guns; should they be banned after horrific terror attack in orlando. Should trucks be banned after the Nice france terror attack to see what people think. At the end of the day IMO its not these weapons that are problem but people behind these acts. If you ban one or the other tool these terrorists will just find another way. We need to get to root of the problem not the tools.

I dont understand what you object to. We both agree these attacks are bad.

Start by stopping hating everyones / everything for any little frustration or different opinion.
Make your days better for you but also for everyone around you.
They are the opposite of that and they will probably suicide themselves if we show them how the world don't need them.

Massive surveillance / satellite / trucks control ? It would be giving them victory. They want you to live in fear and they are half on the way to be successful on that.

That's my opinion on how to fight them and stop this mess.
That is... remarkably delusional.

Their appeal is violence, adventure, and control. Three things that have driven the hearts of young men since forever. ISIS isn't going to fucking hug this one out, dude.

I've heard it argued, quite convincingly, that the reason we are having these troubles is that we don't have the stomach for actual, we took you the fuck over and now this country is ours, warfare. We do things in half-measures, and engage in this weird practice of nation/democracy-building.

See Japan/Germany. We beat the shit out of them, and stayed like we owned the joint, and we really did own the joint. Look where they are now.

See Iraq/Vietnam. Kindasorta took over, kindasorta owned it. Look how that turned out.

I'm a liberal, almost as liberal as they come. With that out of the way, here's the bottom line: beating ISIS* is going to take a war of WW2 magnitude, and a post-war effort of the same magnitude. That means millions of people dead, and trillions of dollars spent. None of this "bomb people and let the least insufferable group mop up" horseshit. Actual War.

You prepared for that?

ISIS, or whatever group inevitably springs up after.

That method war is illegal as hell. Read Geneva conventions Mr. Liberal. I have no problem going after bad actor who actually plot and do mayhem. It is a small minority.

PS stop stealing our language you are not liberals in spirit of founding fathers, I'm a liberal, you are neocon prowar socialist.

Normally, I don't like calling the police. But when some random 60+year-old man attacks me out of nowhere, almost disemboweling me with dull boxcutters, suddenly I want to call the police*. Not because I'm scared - his element of surprise is gone and I'd have no trouble disarming him - but because I want him to suffer (and I'm not a vigilante). Justice or revenge, take your pick.

Normally, I don't like war. But when a group of radical fake-Muslims kill innocent people in a cowardly attack, then do it again, then do it again, then do it again, then do it again, I like war. Actual war, not Team America World Police. Been there, done that, got nothing but a T-shirt out of it.

I guess Nice was kind of the line for me. Fuck being the Nice Guys. Both meanings - at this point we are allowing ourselves to be kamikazed with impunity.

Bottom line: destroy the terrorists and any who aid or tolerate them. Force the Middle East to choose a side - and woe to those who choose poorly. Make their land ours until they unfuck themselves, then give it back, just like Japan and Germany. Stop at nothing.

It's not like they haven't declared war on us. It's not like they won't stop at nothing.

* Actually happened. Turns out he was a vigilante - his motive was that I was smoking in a non-smoking outdoor area.
