Game is too fast.

Interesting, Arrowneous. However, what does it have to do with the clear speed meta?

Clear speed is primarily a function of the gear we can find/buy plus some playing skills. If gear is plentiful like now with Cadiro we can acquire better endgame gear to make clearing maps easier and thus faster. If we have to make do with lesser offense/defense then time to clear any map is longer. That is obvious to all. All I was pointing out was that how can GGG ever top the endgame gear we got from Perandus (without which we going to be clearing slower and are going to not be happy)? Going backwards in playing maps (slower clear speed) is never good for player happiness and thus we are not in an mtx buying mood. GGG can't afford to slow down (hence the "skate or die" comment... probably lost on most as they weren't around in the 80s playing arcade video games).

The problem is nearly unrelated to gear availability.

The top players will always have very good gear. A mirror drops on average every 5 years of playing the game? Why do players on Standard then have 10 of them and fully mirrored gear? Because the top equipment concentrates with very few (just like in the real world where the same happens to money).

Making gear more available will somewhat lower the difference between a good casual player and a no-lifer. Which is good, because then the game can be more properly balanced. Yet, the balancing has not happened.

Personally, I would like it if GGG reduced the amount of monsters by 50% and multiplied the hitpoints of normal mobs by 10, magic mobs by 6 and rare/unique mobs by 4. Would also make the "don't get hit because everything dies before it can attack/cast" somewhat obsolete.

Move speed is okay, cast/attack speed I am indifferent about, clear speed is way too high. Why is act4 normal harder than a T13 map? Makes no sense.

6Ls and stronger weapons equals killing stuff faster.

I do agree that while clear speed is intoxicating and fun for awhile that once we can blitz through maps that too becomes stale and boring. Example, Devourers used to be really dangerous and scary good and now they are mostly meh with a few rare ones that require a little work to kill. The power creep that is always inevitable in every arpg is forcing a faster and faster base play speed in PoE. Once we have experienced high clear speed no one (very few) will want to go back to weaker builds. GGG has gone down the slippery slope and it's too late to try to go back (many would quit).

Movement speed is spot on and no change needs to be made there. It's relatively easy to get above 50% added speed and I've had builds that go into the 80% range which is super fun run speed so GGG doesn't need to alter it.

Where GGG should focus on is with our new found powers to kill fast the white and blue mobs need to be harder to kill in order to slow us down. They're way too easy now as compared to CB/OB PoE although DESYNC F'cked all of us up big time in forcing us to go slower or desync die. With that gone now GGG should be raising the base of all whites/blues to make the mobs challenging again.

All raising mob hit points will do is fuel power creep AND at the same time alienate the part of the player base who play solo/sf/non-meta/inventive characters.

Nothing would change for the no life crowd, but it would become worse for the majority of the users.

Pitifully terrible idea.

Congratulations on this deduction. Did you read the rest of what I wrote, too?

Holy shit relax.

p.s. I can't tell what you edited differently, btw...

I'm just saying part of this power creep thing is an illusion. Unless we're talking broken meta much has not fundamentally changed, only access to 6Ls and better weapons. With that line of thinking perhaps this is the way the game was always meant to be played. If that's still a problem I can understand, but I don't feel this was an out-of-control accident.

Why would 6l be easier to get nowadays? Fusings have not gotten cheaper. Yes, 20% quality helps, but not exactly much.

Besides, nothing was changed since you answered. Check the time stamps. I edited two minutes after I had written the post and 4 minutes before you wrote yours.

I absolutely agree. I think the "clearspeed meta" needs to go. There are things that can kill you so fast that you have no time whatsoever to react. The solution often involves cranking your attack speed to absurd levels, which gets you killed the moment something casts lightning thorns. (or whatever else that punishes you for attacking too fast)

A different take on this: Why does GGG spend so much time on art and assets (talking about monsters in particular, here) on things that only appear on your screen for .1 seconds before they die?

Fuck that It's high paced d2 was like that too wtf lol I'm not a fucking snail.

Have you... played D2 lately?

What are you bad at D2 randomly? Unless it's the present which I don't know or give a fuck about it but in the past it was fast paced like I was a fucking god and I didn't even use JSP because as usual I was a trade god. Same right here same results; Fast pace not slow bullshit that some of you care about.

And I will tell you this I promise you it's not slowing down they won't even touch it in fact they will probably increase the speed.
