Everyone wanting to PvP in ARPGS have moved on to MOBAs
Unfortunately, not everyone.

pvp doesnt belong in games like this imo . its stats vs stats and that is stupid . Games that are designed to pvp on equal terms like tekken , fight night , fifa , nba , nhl etc is designed like that . thats great games for that .
i have tried pvp in poe with undergeared characters against other people and getting killed by no effort from the other guy simply because he had better stats/ gear than me . So its basically stats vs stats which is retarded imo . Last edited by Devonor#2471 on Apr 11, 2016, 1:53:09 PM

The idea of introducing competitive PvE sounds a lot like D3's Greater Rifts. No bad thing, they are very fun. However, you will reduce the perception of viable builds down to a very narrow few if a competitive/ranked PvE feature is implemented.

and that is a real,real,real....awesome thing !!!!! pvv in games like poe should not exist...or only for a few kids like "ho look, mine is bigger than yours ...i am so happpyyyyy!!!!!"....
have fun dudes. learning is a painful process ... knowledge is the most deadly weapon.

I think people were more interested in PVP in D2 because it was somehow forced into you and always looming over your head. A lot of people realised they liked the rush. People in poe will never learn about pvp because all there is in poe are arena duels. PvP in D2 evolved into duels but without the hostile button i dont think anyone would have cared about pvp.
I really think that duels were an after effect of people who got pk'd and decided to be successful where they had failed first. In a duel with rules where they had some control over what was going on. Last edited by DAYLEET#4178 on Apr 11, 2016, 3:35:01 PM

" Which is precisely what the current map system does, anyway. Make a build which can progress and hopefully sustain content with as little currency investment as possible used in rolling maps, or make a fun build. Casually casual.

Something like Assault mode in Unreal Tournament could fit PoE (without the direct combat between teams). Team based missions you have to do in a time limit.
Add a Forsaken Masters questline

They did pvp events a while back, with tournament supports & rewards too. The community didn't give a shit, and it became obvious that pvp is such a tiny minority which GGG shouldn't be focusing on. There's a balance issue when it comes to pvp. Since this is primarily a pve game, GGG doesn't want to change the mechanic of the skills just for pvp.
PVP is literally a joke in this game. HLD is full of one-shot fest. Spark Inquisitor huehuehue, nice build. Racing is the direction we are going and it fits better in this game for those who still want to compete with others for fames and glory.
