I am a scammer - Account locked?
" So what your saying is you have zero clue as to why this person who's name shall not be spoken was banned. You are assuming he was for scamming? Excellent thank you for clearing that up for me. " There are no records that this is the case whatsoever. On the contrary prolific scammers getting name changes and other services are. Last edited by Accountlocked#1052 on Mar 20, 2016, 2:56:12 AM

I sincerely hope the OP will receive a lifetime ban.

" You could lifetime ban an IP i guess on a F2P game but what if IP isn't static? I understand your stance - I'm personally wanting to know why the lock.Hence the OP. Great input though. |

Well we had some clue, there was just no communication or anything from GGG. We all assumed it was for the scamming because that was what we had complained to GGG about.
GGG said they needed evidence - which doesn't help because no one is recording like that. I think once someone went in prepared for the scam and finally submitted evidence (video/images) of the scam, then they banned his account. IMO the banning doesn't really help. If the guy was smart he would have just been trading most of his scammed items to an alt account at the end of every day. You can't really say there are no records whatsover of people complaining. People email GGG directly, even Chris if it is bad enough - that is what we did. What I'm saying is that if you managed to get on Reddit, I think that means you reached a wide audience - a lot of people read Reddit PoE and even if they didn't post on that Reddit thread or on PoE forums they could have PM'd/emailed GGG. 1 or 2 complaints over a week may be not so bad. But picture GGG getting like 10 or 15 emails? In one day? They will lock the account for sure. Yes the rules are ambiguous but GGG can't ignore a lot of complaints. I think if they got a lot of complaints AND someone had also submitted evidence (i.e. video recording/images) all in one day - you would probably be banned. Anyway, while you wait to hear back from GGG here's some entertainment that I remember generated a ton of RAGE on PoE forums (she'd been doing this for quite some time and killed like 600 players): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGizBMfFPQk Last edited by Ceryneian#3541 on Mar 20, 2016, 3:39:36 AM

" Haha, funny :). Well not realy as it show your short mind :(. Crim == against the EULA or game-designe in this case! If GGG says "we want no scam" then you act against their laws == crim! On the other side killing enemys in Counter Strike is the intended game goal / designe == no crim! Best example for intended/wanted trade-scam is EvE Online where CCP several times said: "We don't care, be more carefull, part of the game". There scaming is no crim (but still very asotial and I can totaly understand if suddenly someone stands infront of the door of such a scamer and punches his face ... hell, he should have been more carefull *g*). Use brain before post. Last edited by Schakar#4083 on Mar 20, 2016, 4:22:58 AM

Ignorance is one of the strongest punishments,
and yeah you totally deserve it. |

" For not breaking any rule? How? |

" Why do you scam, because you can ? GGG have never encouraged anyone to scam other AFAIK. I thought you looking legitimate reasons for your account being locked by GGG and I think I'm doing the same on you. This reminds me of someone asking a question to the starter and felt being ignored after a reply and posting in the forums. :P Edit:
TL;DR You are doing this in a wrong way.
First of all, you look like finding a solution over in game scam cases in my eyes. So I have nothing bad with you.
Here is the answer and you agreed with this. " IMO you better stick to the origin of your issue, in game scam. This is the only way to work with GGG and community. Or you have to start with the legal loophole to go against GGG (and you are failing obviously.) Absolute liability could stand on in game scam but GGG is not the one who should be responsible for the absolute liability in the first place. But remember you could be the one who should be responsible over things made by suggesting GGG are irresponsible for no reason. Absolute liability is seen fairly common now on internet, like people often refers "It's only the fault of the scammed person." But it's not quite correct. To say this to the scammed person, we have to admit that there is also unlimited liability on scammers. It's obvious that there are no scammed person if there is no scammer. In correct, this should be "Online game publishers have the limited liability over in game scam cases." which wrongly suggests us the absolute liability on the scammed person only because the scammed person often is the first and the last one who standing on the stage. The concept of absolute liability should not referred to accuse the scammed person not matter if it's intentional or not. In fact, the concept of absolute liability has made to compensate the victims when it's hard to find the criminals. http://www.diffen.com/difference/Civil_Law_vs_Criminal_Law https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negligence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_liability Everything I do should be wrong so please correct me if I do it right <3 Stop Bombing Moment Joon 【Passport & Garcon】https://bit.ly/2wXiUSj MonoNeon 【Put On Earth For You】https://bit.ly/3I22mru Last edited by finisterre#5659 on Mar 20, 2016, 1:39:34 PM

Btw it's all buisness.
If I as company get 10 emails/week with "Mr Bob scamed me" ... I rather ban this 1 guy then losing 10 victims. 1v10 ... good deal ;). By Mr Bob! And if I would work for GGG I would care as much about the scamer as he cared about his victims ... SERO. Last edited by Schakar#4083 on Mar 20, 2016, 4:54:37 AM
