GGG & Kripp - Why?

Kripp who ???

honestly what have we come come to ...... people watching people play games *shakes head sighs

What if labyrinth really IS BORING?

While I'm not a fan of Kripp, I can't stand censorship - why wold GGG not grant him access, when he is well known for his aRPG knowledge?

Love or hate him, but there is no doubt he knows what he is talking about. Denying him access, because he has a negative opinion is just dumb. Make a better product - you'll get a good opinion.

GGG has fucked up recently in big ways. Pretending it didn't happen won't make it any better.

well, 'denying access' is a weird phrase, because it implies he initiated wanting access.

In reality GGG approached Kripp asking if he wanted to play exclusive alpha build for new expansion (for free) and Kripp said yes. I don't know about his HS reality, but when streaming arpgs Kripp always said what he thought of them, never did he sugar coat anything or went out of his way to bash anything. Ie, exactly what I think people want to see in a streamer review/feedback.

ggg after shooting themselves in the foot when letting him tease one of the previous leagues obviously discovered they have 2 feet.

edit: i'm refering to his bored attitude, his shown disrespect and desinterest towards the game. which is no advertizement.

i value his analyzing skills and honest feedback.

Actually GGG got honest feedback from Kripp in his closing stream.

He said "basically at this point we just grind the shit out of maps to no end" which is 100% true, PoE's endgame was the same today as it was 3 years ago. so nothing really changed fundamentally for veteran beta players like Kripp.

So he gave his honest opinion, PoE girls got butthurt as usual.

That's pretty much all.

Yea I agree with all you hardcore PoE junkies tho. GGG really should be paying magazines and streamers money so they gave fake and fabricated feedbacks to sucker people into this game.
The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.

Welcome to PoE.

... Well today, that stream came to an end with some very interesting comments from Kripp.

1) "I won't be playing the released version"
2) "The labyrinth was just boring to me. I didn't enjoy it at all"

...

Opinions? Was it a good move by GGG to give Kripp access or has it pushed away potential players who are seeing the game for the first time or who are sitting on the fence?

It was a really good move because:
1.) They showed some balls again
2.) This way the playerbase had the chance to get real feedback not only fanboy blahblahblah

So sad but so true! "basically at this point we just grind the shit out of maps to no end" summons up the whole game in one sentence. When this game was released it had so much potential but it was almost completely wasted. Players ask for a real endgame since years, so yes you go to a level where you are able to do maps in a few hours of playtime and then you do the same maps over and over again until the boredom make you quit.

Ye, excuse me the weird phrase - had nothing better on my mind at that time... tbh, still don't. :D
But I see you got my point, so that is great!

Welp, exactly that. :V It is something people do not understand - don't try to fight press/reviewers/critiques. Nor try to buy them. Just let them take a look at your stuff (as soon as possible - preferably BEFORE release of your product), and listen what they have to say. And when they have something negative to say, PAY EVEN MORE ATTENTION - don't pretend you're not listening.

People really need to lay off the hate.

Kripp promoted this game the most when it needed it the most, a lot of players tried the game and stuck around because of it.
I remember watching his video clips on youtube regarding mechanics / effective crafting and builds and it was really entertaining and pushed me to play the game even more.

He liked the ascendancy classes but didn't like the labyrinth, it was his personal opinion. He didn't say the labyrinth was bad, he personally didn't like it that much and that is his feedback on it.
The fact people are bashing him for not being all jolly hyped and praising GGG on every step of the way need to calm down and realize he was just giving his feedback and playing the game the way he wanted to play.

Fuck no! That kind of shit is the root cause of Gamergate. Can we please keep it as far away from PoE as possible?

ggg provides the game, google the platform they base their income upon.

so ggg giving exclusive interviews to certain streamers or even let them exclusively spoil new content is not "buying them"? when the streamers' income is based on his popularity?

streamers are a double edged sword for companies, it's all ok as long as these kids like you.

paying attention? move ascendancy to september for a rework because kripparian didn't like it?

there is a huge difference between having somebody review your product or let them do the promotion for it:

in the first case you invite them to alpha for closed community feedback, in the second case you let them examine your product publicly after you made sure they basically like it.

letting the guy responsible for the promotion publicly utter the xpac has huge flaws is bad, letting him publish he wouldn't play your xpac is a total promotion fail.
