nothing is valuable anymore

I will take a game with cool and overpowered items over this shit any day. There is like almost no economic point to playing temp leagues now too unless you legit like to start fresh or think the mechanics will be cool.

I know what u mean.

first world problems obviously, but when items you want to buy cost 170+ exalts, and nothing that can still drop is worth fuck all, what do you do? No drops can match eternal crafts, no non eternal crafts can match eternal crafts, no uniques are worth anything basically. Weve sort of got this situation now where theres a sort of cut off, its musical chairs and the music has stopped, forever, either you have a chair already or your fucked. If you have a chair and you want another chair, you have to sell your existing chair, theres very little room now to acquire another chair.

I used to play temp leagues to make money, doesnt rly seem like any point now, its all just chump change that means nothing outside of a chance to buy some nerfed unique that will literally be worth nothing on standard.

The only things worth anything anymore are pretty much...

1. Mirrors
2. Eternals
3. 6 Links
4. Mirrored Items
5. Very Specific Corrupted items
6. Legacy Items
7. Legacy multi-crafted items
8. Top/High rolled Rares
9. Old race rewards or Top Point Race Rewards

4x Increased Drop rate in Standard was a huge mistake on GGGs part, it should have been restricted to new leagues only.

The very fact that like only 3 items are even worth chancing anymore is further proof.

Once i completed my goal of finding a mirror, the carrot on the stick was gone. I literally ate it. Theres nothing left for me to do on this game now, really.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

"But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years.

im kind of in the other spot lol, unless i find a mirror theres nothing to do because I cant afford anything I dont already have and theres basically no chance of making that kind of money without finding a mirror. The carrot for me is progression, if I cant progress in some meaningful way the game is over, and I dont rly see any way forward right now without literally dropping a mirror.

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

This is a good point, but also players like you (and me) have been around for a while and logged plenty of hours, so we've experienced most of what the game has to offer and all that's left is leveling characters, unaffordable legacies/mirrored gear/race rewards/crazy high end items, and maybe trying some niche builds that people probably aren't running for a reason. Already this game has kept us around for a couple of years, and that's rather impressive.

This is all spot on. I bought a 189% 6L shavs for 21EX the other day. 6L pledge for my buddy I managed to finally pull over from D3 for 14ex. So even 6L are crashing and dont know how long your list will hold up. They should have never buffed std drops especially.

Why is making build-enabling uniques more readily available a bad thing? Giving more players access to these items fosters creativity and diversity. And here's the thing: 14 Ex, especially considering many traders will only accept pure, is still a lot to save up. With prices of uniques going down and prices of Ex going up, it can actually be harder to save up that currency than it was before, and there's a side effect of making players even less likely to spend orbs on crafting, which means there's a smaller pool of powerful crafted items in the market. I wonder if GGG has been trying to balance this by having leagues with more powerful or frequent drops... Perhaps people are running on old expectations (or new expectations that aren't based on fact), so the economy feels out of whack.

Again, keep in mind that GGG keeps adding new items, and a bigger item pool and GGG's mindset on powerful items means that you're even less likely to get something decent to drop, so a drop buff was going to happen eventually if they want to keep the typical player around.

Is this real life? Is this real? Did I seriously just read this?

So the Standard economy is fucked. This is exciting news that no one has ever heard before. If you want your shinies to be valuable play temp leagues. If you don't want to play temp leagues then this isn't the right game for you.

Furthermore, the enjoyment of people who can now play Mjolner builds outweighs the enjoyment of seeing that Mjolner drop or you get out of trading them. That's not catering to casuals, that's just good design. My favorite example is Mana Burn in League of Legends, which was removed years ago. The person who is burning mana gets a lot less enjoyment out of it than the person whose mana is being burned is being frustrated. To that end they trashed the mechanic. Same thing applies here.

Lastly, if you really want to play games with an in-game economy then go play EVE. It's the best game in thee world for that sort of thing.

+ you really need skill in EVE (unless you just sit in jita).

poe is not hardcore at all, it's just a huge timesink.

also i like how ppl in here completely lose sense for reality. calling others who play less than 40-50 hours a week casuals is beyond everything. (sadly this shows the main aspect of the game)
Uniques are either twink items for leveling or potential build enablers. Some are rarer than others. But to think that their 'economic value' will stay a constant, is foolish. That doesn't mean your precious economy is doomed.

There are still rare carrots that one can chase if he/she so desires. T1-uniques are definitely not the holy grails as some people deluded themselves. That was never the intention anyway.

Upon reading the OP, I nearly burst into tears. Or, was it laughter?

It's a video game. If it's no longer fun, build a tree fort.

Oh, it's only a video game? Haha, it's just a video game guys, those things are for kids! They're not meant to be taken seriously! No, THEY ARE. I play 10+ hours a day, I have deprived myself of sleep over them. I spend money purchasing them and I spend money within them on things like MTX. SO NO, IT'S NOT JUST A GAME.
