Dualwielding shields please

How old should he have? If he's over 15, he probably has serious problems with reasoning, his communication skills are poor, then we can not expect much, just wish it would stop bothering people.

To summarize all of Crizaig content:
- stupid idea - dump idea - silly idea - kids - kiddos - butthurt-kid - retarded - fanboy stalker - idiot - cry - limited knowledge - I like to piss you off - and namecalling in his signature And not ONE argument against dual-shield. Wow... I'm ashamed of being part of a community with a guy like him... Last edited by AceNightfire#0980 on Feb 13, 2013, 1:36:34 PM

Apparently, we have a genius.
From now on when someone have some idea, we should consult him. Has a vacancy for a consultant out there? Hey, Pet Guy, calm down. Last edited by crishark#2134 on Feb 13, 2013, 1:39:37 PM

" The only post you had which offered anything was: "Crizaig wrote: I prefer a 1-handed weapon/shield and tanking mobs. Shield abilities provide shit for DPS and you would move at an insanely slow speed due to weight. It is a stupid idea for a hack-n-slash game. It might be able to work in an MMORPG type of game with raids and stuff if you had shouts and/or auras to make you hold aggro but even that is far-fetched." So, lets address this.. 1. Shield abilities provide shit for DPS - As there is no coding for using a shield as a primary weapon, we have no way to gauge what the DPS would be. 2. You would move at an insanely slow speed due to weight - There are nodes for reducing speed penalties already in the game. People would need to use them if they didn't want to be slow with two shields. 3. If you had shouts and/or auras to make you hold aggro - Or minions. Or totems. Or spells. All of which we have. |
|
" Reasons why it's a good idea: 1) increases build diversity 2) opens opportunities for new synergies between skills 3) introduces a new weapon type 4) increases the usefulness shield skills 5) gives players an entirely new play style option There's five. Your turn. |
|
" 2. Yeah and I think dual shield is perfectly for duelist/Marauder/Templer, so it should be close to their path. The node for removing penalities is close to duelist, so if someone wants dual shield combined with remove penalities, he has to go all the way close to the duelist. Why not? :) 3. Or traps, or mines, or shield related skills. So many options to deal damage without having a weapon. Last edited by AceNightfire#0980 on Feb 13, 2013, 1:48:02 PM

I remember seeing a thread asking for dual wield shields in CB, and I think it got shut down.
For what it's worth, I like the idea, and would vote for it if given the chance. On the other hand I also want to see dedicated healing gems put in the game, since I think adding more play styles to a game is never a bad thing. | |
|
Anyway, I did not like the idea, but like JVP said, more play style is always welcome. I think if you ignore the Crizaig maybe he quit. The topic just came to this because we gave too much attention to it, forget it and continue presenting arguments for the idea!

" FINALLY you posted something constructive. Now, why can't all of your posts be like this? We shouldn't have to wade through a dozen posts of you being a dick to get to some real meat. You think they can't get the mechanics of this to work without a major overhaul to the game? Ok, I get that, thanks for the constructive comments, I think you may have a point, and that's something that I would love to see a Dev address. People don't have a problem with you not liking the idea, they have a problem with the way you present your dislike. |
|
" If the Devs allow dual shields, they would obviously change the code to allow a shield in the main hand. And they would increase the number of skills which could use it (hell, lightning strike doesn't even specify a weapon). Arguing game mechanics as a reason is a moot point, since those mechanics can easily be changed. " More game mechanics. Who says you couldn't solo? And the passive tree has been changed time and time again, and will still be changed in the future. " But a piece of glass tied to a stick is? Or a piece of driftwood? Or a tree branch? Or a goat's horn? |
