Dualwielding shields please

How would a Dual Shielder use skills? The passive tree does not grant actively usable skills.

For normal melee: Heavy Strike, Cleave, etc.
For dual shield: Just the default Attack skill?

There seem to be some hurdles to clear before this can become a reality. If the problems are somehow solved, then how is Dual Shield not the obvious best class for 7-8 aura build?
I think the best option would be to create a character who could use spells shield as a weapon in one hand in the style Captain America would be less weird.

Shield Charge (benefits from 2 shield obviously), Tempest Shield (no need for explanation), Sweep (instead of 1 sweep swirling around you could have 2, but should work with dual wield weapons 2 like this imo). I think there are enough possibilites.

And why shouldn't a dual shield user use heavy strike or cleave or sweep? There is no rule that he has to attack with both shields with every skill he uses.
It would depend on shield type.

Armour Shield -> Would get increased Area of Effect and Block Chance, thanks to their big size.

ES Shield -> That's hard... Dunno maybe amplifying Elemental Damage at cost of some defence or Eldritch Battery like switch? That would be awesome, but it would impose mechanics problem. (It also would make EB quite useless)

Evasion Shield -> Would get increased damage from Shield Charging and Blows (compared to other shields), since all the power behind the blow would be concentrated in one place. Also power would be dependant on Accuracy Rating.

Evasion/ES Shield -> Would allow for use of piercing attacks (Viper Strike,Puncture), all thanks to them being spiked shields,

Armour/Evasion Shield -> Would get +dmg from accuracy rating (smaller than Eva) and slightly increased block chance,

Armour/ES Shield -> Would get slightly increased elemental damage and slightly increased block chance

Shields wouldn't be good at DPS, that's true... but that's like "Devil dwells in details" thing. Survivability would be used to prepare most devilish tactics killing off opponent by using duration skills like:

- Fire Trap,Bear Trap,
- Viper Strike,Puncture,
- Spell Totems/Ranged Totems,
- Minions,
- Remote Mines,

Oh... yes, there's also some examples of shield used as weapon, probably everyone knows it, but...

Lantern Shield,Russian Shield.

It won't work in PoE. Have fun speculating kiddos.

Why do you have to be so negative? A large majority of your posts are negative, mean, or rude. That doesn't help the developers OR the community.
Why do you have the need to disturb people? Everyone has understood your opinion. As I said, I would not play with that kind of character, but I think it is a good idea to make the game larger, if you (like me) do not like it just do not play with that kind of character. Simple.

Go play Dark Souls if you guys want to dual wield shields.

This is just a silly idea.
My little tribute to Diablo 1 aka why Diablo 3 is the worst part of the series.

So is Righteous Fire, but it's in the game.

Said the kid. :)
Crizaig, is an idea so stupid as your Pet with Bonus, you still did not fail to insist that stupidity.
