trade
Trading in this game blows donkeys. The incredible amount of hostility by those whom favor this crappy system of trading blows donkeys with herpes and genital warts. I avoid the useless trade system like the viral outbreak it is.
I solved my lack of gear by making a high magic find character and playing the hell out of it when I can tolerate it. I regularly vendor or simply delete items that I am quite sure others would gladly buy and equip due to lack of space in my inventory. It used to bother me to do so, now I kinda giggle about some of the stuff I vendor/delete. If we had a bazaar/marketplace/auction house, I would be one of them dudes that pisses off those elitist traders who bitch at us for wanting a marketplace. I typically sell stuff dirt cheap. I would bet many of the items are bought and resold as a result...driving up prices probably. Do I care? Nope. I'll let others be the loot/currency mongrels whilst I focus on actually playing the game. I would love to see a marketplace added just so I could actually get some high value currency that I would like to use on my gear I find on my own or craft. |

" I am doing 20 to 50 trades a day. More than 9 out of 10 trades are fast and polite transactions. This whole thing reads like an excuse for not being willing to set up a shop or learn about pricing. If a bazaar/marketplace/auction house would be implemented, the stuff that you find would be worthless. This is basic supply and demand. If everyone finds tons of great stuff but needs only 5-10 items, then prices will crash in a transparent and convenient market. You would then come back to the forum complaining that you can not sell your stuff for what you imagine that it should be worth. Further you would complain that you can not find any upgrades in game. |

" youre so annoying. THEM CHANCERS (what a seriously stupid term) ARE RUINGING EVERYTHING. posting that over every forum doesnt make it true nor does it make your point more valid. youre spewing unfounded bullshit. edit: @topic: git gud and learn how to use the tools given to you. you wouldnt bitch playing "economy sim" in a football manager, would you? trading is as essential here, youre not trading players but items, same shit, different game. if you wanna compete you gotta do what the others do, not complain until it gets changes. [/quote] Your reply reads like someone who doesn't understand the words they are reading. I do not sell my stuff due to the lack of a marketplace. So why would I come back to the forums complaining about low prices? ANY price would beat what I currently receive. And, in my opinion, if the prices fall due to the implementation of a market, then ALL THE BETTER! Prices would be forced to fix themselves in relation to the actual supply that is out there and not the supply of those whom cater towards the current trade system...or lack thereof. Furthermore, I already stated that I found my means of obtaining gear in game. Is it perfect? Not by any means...but it does work. To make it all the easier for myself, I have even stopped playing outside of standard since I do not sell(so the high prices really do not concern me). OP I feel you, I play since open beta, and I just put up a shop with Procurement for the first time 2 days ago, let me tell you : it is great.
you want to start playing, you login poe official website, get your session code, login to Procurement with it (safe), set the value of the new items to sell that you stores from last farming session, click to automatically update & bump your trade thread (that poetrade will soon automatically pick up) all of the above is like 10 clics, and 10 keys strokes, done in like 2-3 minutes most of it being waiting for Procurement to load. and you play while people whispers at you to buy stuff, it's magic. I tend to under-price my stuff to keep it rolling, I got several sells a day by spending mostly no time on it. |

" I do nearly as much trading as you... And to be honest, the main reason I let it slip (by not bothering to load up Procurement and update stuff) is because it's a pain in the ass spending so much time on a metagame. The sentiment is real; I'm sure for some people, they love spending time on the metagame instead of the real game... But for most players, we play Path of Exile because we want solid, challenging not-for-casuals action RPG gameplay; boss runs, mapping, races, dueling, any of that stuff; trading is just a "grind" barrier that access to the real content is gated behind. I've enjoyed playing merchant in some games... But to be honest, PoE is not a good game for that for me. I have much more fun with that in other games. " That's actually not a certainty whatsoever. That assumes that easier trading would merely lower the cost of doing business for SELLERS ALONE, which would boost just supply, and not affect demand. What you neglect to consider, as well, is that it would make things easier for BUYERS as well; while yes, there's POE.XYZ, it's still a hassle to use when buying, or really doing anything other than price/supply research. A buyer often wants their item RIGHT NOW, and often enough, there aren't any sellers listed online... Or if they are:
The above are all VERY common occurences, (Case-in-point: most of my whispers from buyers happen while I am mapping!) that make it much harder for a buyer to actually get a purchase going. So often, we have tons of would-be-buyers in the market, who instead of actually buying something, make an attempt, and exhaust their self-allocated time/effort for getting a trade going; then they decide to shrug and trudge through with their existing gear. Making trade a much easier option would increase the number of buyers out there as a result; even GGG's first-baby-step towards it, (their long-promised "offline trading" option) would slightly improve this, as it would cut off some of the cases of "no one was online." Of course, that still won't address the main issue of no "buy it now" option. The best solution for this would almost certainly be full player-owned NPC vendors. It'll still require some degree of real "Effort," but basically, for buyers and sellers alike, it'd be just the same as the current first-steps: sellers will do just the same as they do currently to set up a Procurement/Acquisition-produced thread, and buyers will still do the same as a POE.XYZ search... Only after that, it's just a matter for the buyer to make a click to buy, and the seller to later click to claim the orbs they netted. Removed: having to find people on at the same time, actually meeting up, people backing out, ("Oh, I meant 100ex buyout instead of 1ex") and "negotiation," which no one does at all. One thing people need to realize here is that there's a huge difference between an auction house with over a million sellers (D2) and a hypothetical AH for PoE which would have maybe 100.

Trading is already very easy it really shouldn't become easier.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
