kill the hp node requirement
" I believe his point is that it can be done...not balanced around all life resist stuff. and still be hard. |

" But is D2 really hard if you can do it naked? Not sure about that. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Is it wrong that after D3 im glad to see less focus on DPS Being able to survive is more important then super high DPS. That was something i enjoyed in D2 aswell. |

" And that's the main issue with D3 and POE. They removed too much actual skill in playing your character and focused more on "correctly" building and gearing your character (theorycraft). Its mostly a gear/points check later on (thanks to unavoidable ridiculously high damage) and the reason I currently am finding it hard to motivate myself to play. |

" Like D2 wasn't a gear check? What was the skill involved in making a smiter and clearing uber tristram with 1 button? choosing the right aura? What was the skill involved in making a hammerdin, getting enigma, and teleporting around and clearing everything else in the game with 1 button? |

" What do you mean?!? There are tons of viable builds! You can start as the marauder and work your way to the templar area. Or you can start as a Duelist and work your way to the templar starting area. You can even start as a Ranger and work your way to the templar starting area! How many more builds do you want?! |

It's not just about HP. It's about defence in general.
You need to find the balance between defence and offence. Too much defence, then you have little to no kill speed. To much offence, then you are squishier than a piece of playdough. "Minions of your minions are your minion's minions, not your minions." - Mark

" The point is you could play the majority of D2's content without have massive gear checks The same isn't for PoE. In fact PoE doesn't just enforce gear checks, it also enforces build checks (which is a completely different ballgame). In D2 you weren't forced to build your character in a certain why (unless you were being utterly retarded) |

Okay now that i have read the WHOLE DAMN THREAD i can actually comment on it.
A lot of people apparently thinks that the problem is that there is a huge lack of viable builds because when it comes down to it all the build are basically the same just using minimal different ways to reach the same end, and to be honest that sound boring as shit what some people need to understand is that not every one enjoys the same thing a lot of people like to try many different things and have fun in many different ways, and the problem seems to be that the game is favoring defense to much compared to offence don't get me wrong i am not saying that you should be able to completely forgo one over the other what i mean is that for as much as possible to be viable the game should be about balancing offence and defense in different ways depending on your play style but it sounds like that right now to much weight is put in favor of the defensive side. Another problem is that it sounds like that PoE is also getting a rabbit fan boy problem which is also bad because rabbit fan boys will defend what they like no matter how flawed it is instead of working on constructive criticism so that the game can actually improve. And let the grama nazies devour this post because i am simply to bloody tired to give a shit i might come back and edit it after i have slept. |

I'm not even putting anything in armor for my ranger (100% evasion). My witch has no hp or armor nodes (went 100% energy shield). They are both in cruel. I'll see how they do in the next difficulty. So far they are kicking ass. I mostly focus on dps with my ranger.
