This post deff needs a bump! Running a dw claw pact/CI/ghost reaver build at lvl 59 and something is broken:S If i remove the passives from CI and Ghost Reaver i have no problems life leaching enough to keep me alive, but as soon as i put on CI and Ghost Reaver i leech ALOT less to ES....
edit: not meaning to hijact this caster thread, but it felt like a good place to rant! Last edited by Mr_Obvious#5671 on Jul 16, 2015, 7:09:53 AM

" Yo dude, you're not hijacking anything, lots of posts are coming out with regards to CI and leech. So the more the merrier. I have a reave character that uses CI as well, but I'm holding off ATM, might spec into dual welding toon. As there doesn't seem to be any resolution for CI. It just seems like GGG doesn't understand how to truly just tweak anything. It is like they are driving down the road and hitting the wall on both sides as they over-compensate.
The game is so frustrating and this is coming from someone that doesn't really copy any single style. I love trying new things, but they drive me nuts making such drastic changes. I usually end up leaving the game for several months at a time because of it. I know I have never purchased the $1000 packs or anything, but I have purchased several middle tier packs in the the past as well as other micro-transactions to support GGG. I just can't see doing that anymore until they get a little more consistent. A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I also play CI and am a big fan of it (two of my main shadows are/were CI; my dual claw crit one and my crit arcer).
I was in the beta and did a little testing, though I have yet to play either of these characters on 2.0.0 because I'm not entirely sure how they're going to function anymore. I think my CI arcer MAY work (4% LL, should be instant), although this is less than the 10% or so he had non instant before. That said, I'm concerned about damage spikes and whether relying on endurance charges and MoM will be enough. That said, my CI dual claw is on hold until something changes. Not only was leech itself hit hard, but I'll have to craft new weapons now, as Imperial Claws are now LGoH and not leech. The base item change really screwed any leech claw build from before. He was also mana leech reliant.... Anyways, my idea for a slight boost that might help a little was for Ghost reaver to make Life Leech and LGoH applay to ES instead of Life. That would at least give attackers a way to sustain, either via claws or the gem. Basically, I see little to no reason to play an ES build over a life based build (as many people have said). My current build on Warbands is life based, is currently in A4M (about to enter the Beast, lvl 70), has 0 deaths, runs on 4L's, and has more or less facerolled all the content so far. I've spent a total of 4c on buying gear. I'd also like to rant about fortify, but I'll save that for another thread. Any word from the devs about what can be done to help ES builds (CI, Low life, Hybrid) would be greatly appreciated! -Savage Theorycrafter/Build Creator for PORTAL guild

@zSavage go hybrid and run life leach on ES and LgoH on life pool?
It's what i am going to try next :).(probably put vaal pact in there so its like energy shield on hit and lgoh at the same time) No clue if it will work, but worth the shot imo. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

I hope they will fix this, CI builds are so useless now! (I've created thread about it even) It's impossible to survive anything without running away, spamming milion skills and using many potions (and sometimes that is even not enough). Life leech boost for CI or special ES leech nodes in passive tree would be enough to fix this problem.

" I've put a little thought into this, but threw it out pretty fast. Here's why: 1. You're the tankiest when your ES is down (basically LGoH does nothing unless your ES is down). 2. It would seem logical therefore to have a low amount of ES, but then you run into the issue of the ES won't come back very fast at all (rate issue). 3. Then you consider VP and the rate won't matter, but then regen can't be used at all. 4. You can't use Bloodrage at all with comparable ES and life pools (the change screwed hybrid even more than CI, in my opinion). Basically, the conclusion I arrived at was that hybrid w/ LGoH + Ghost Reaver is strictly worse than going pure life and using both LGoH and leech, along with Blood Rage and life regen. " That depends entirely on how you go about it though. If your attack speed based, you can get your energy shield on hit (vaal pact + GR) + some additional +3 energy shield on hit jewels. The upside of a hybrid build is the massive combined life-pool to tank big hits. Now what i am going to do to abuse this factor is use a incandescent heart armor. This attacks my life pool for 25% of all elemental sources, so i split up my damage over both pools so both my recovery mechanics kick in.(sustain on life and ES) This makes your recovery mechanics more efficient, but it does require investment though, will let you know how this plays out :). And yeah bloodrage is out of the equation, but there are other ways of gaining frenzy charges so that's hardly an issue.
