So how much more overview does it offer? ![]() Maps Default fontsize for lower level maps. (68-72 / white maps) Slightly larger fontsize and dropsounds for medium level maps. (73-77 / yellow maps) Highlight textcolor and larger font size for red maps. (78+ / red maps) ![]() Currency Different tiers for currency. Mirrors and Albino Feathers really stand out. ![]() High ItemLevel Rares Red border + orange fontcolor = 84+ Red border + yellow fontcolor = 79+ Yellow border = Best BaseType for the zone you are in Random rare (no border) means a better basetype is available based on the zone level. ![]() Links/Sockets 6Ls (other than Tabula) are very rare and thus are highlighted by an uncommon font and border color as well as a larger font size. 5Ls receive the same border and a not as large a font size, no change in font color. 6Ss receive the same border and no change in text size or color. ![]() Uniques ![]() Divination Cards Three different highlights/tiers. ![]() Chisel Recipe ![]() Gems Border for quality 10+ and droponly gems. There are currently three versions of the filter. Note that you can achieve the same result by using the toggles within the filter (refer to the Customization section for further details). Regular Version (v3.2.2): The regular version covers all aspects of the game and by no means is it necessary to switch to a different version. If you're in doubt, use this one and you'll be fine. Map Version (v3.2.2): The "map version" displays significantly less normal and magic items while continuing to show recipe and high itemlevel items. I usually switch at mid tier maps. To achieve the same, you can use the following toggles: #Gear - Progression #Currency - Bestiary Lower Tier Nets #Amulets, Rings, Belts - 68+ #Amulets, Rings, Belts - 75+ #Gear - Endgame (T1 + Craft Bases) - 79+ "Rich" Version (v3.2.2): Will be released during the league. It will focus on standard / endgame gameplay and only display high potential gear. I usually switch once I made 10 / 15 ex in a temporary league. Hidden toggles (so far): #Currency - Wisdom Scroll #Currency - Portal Scroll #Currency - Orb of Augmentation #Currency - Wisdom Scroll #Currency - Armourer's Scrap & Blacksmith's Whetstone #Currency - Bestiary Steel Nets #Gems - ~Q1+ #Gems - ~Vaal #Gems - Active #Gems - Support #~Maps - DropLevel <= 72 #Divination Cards - Low Value #Misc - Chromatic Orb Recipe #Misc - Chisel Recipe #Gear - Endgame (T1 + Craft Bases) - 84+ #Gear - ~Rare - Endgame #~Regal Recipe #~Chaos Recipe #Rares - DropLevel <= 45 #Rares - DropLevel <= 60 #Rares - ~CatchAll #Currency - Scroll Fragment & Alteration Shard #Amulets, Rings, Belts - 84+ #Flasks - Quality - Q10+ Customization
This filter contains toggles that can be used to change the behavior of the script. It will however work just fine in its default state and is actually used in that state by the author. Please be aware that you will need an editor that is capable of replacing all occurances of a search token (Replace All). Example usage: Let's assume you're playing a 2 hand marauder that primarily uses strength items and isn't interested in pure dex/int armour, 1 hand weapons, staffs and bows. First, let's hide every piece of gear that is tagged as "Progression": 1. Replace "Show #Gear - Progression" by "Hide #Gear - Progression" Attention: Make sure to use a tab between "Show / Hide" and "#Gear". The forum doesn't allow tabs and replaces them with spaces. If you copy the line directly from the filter file, it will be a tab. Now let's enable the gear we're actually interested in: 2. Replace "Hide #Gear - Progression - Armour - STR" by "Show #Gear - Progression - Armour - STR" 3. Replace "Hide #Gear - Progression - Armour - STR/INT" by "Show #Gear - Progression - Armour - STR/INT" 4. Replace "Hide #Gear - Progression - Armour - DEX/STR" by "Show #Gear - Progression - Armour - DEX/STR" 5. Replace "Hide #Gear - Progression - Weapon - Two Hand" by "Show #Gear - Progression - Weapon - Two Hand" This will show STR and STR hybrid armour as well as Two Hand Maces/Swords/Axes. The usual highlighting for top tier items based on zonelevel will still apply. In addition top tier rares of other bases will be shown as well. Similiar toggles are available for endgame (T1 + Craft Bases) items. The list below is a subsection of available toggles. There are more throughout the script, however I do not recommend using them unless you know what you are doing. # Show #Gear - Progression - Weapon - One Hand Axes - Lowlevel # Hide #Gear - Progression - Which editor should I use to edit the file? I recommend Notepad++. How do I add a BaseType to the Chance section? Open the file and search for "### Chance", that will get you to the chance section. Copy one of the existing blocks and replace the BaseType with the one you would like to add. Why is this better than the other filters? I don't know if it's better than the others for you. That depends on your personal requirements. The concept of "better" or "best" is highly subjective. Know what you need/want and match against that. Then you found your personal best filter. Why are 3L Quartz Sceptre highlighted? / I found a bug. A chromatic Quartz or Crystal Sceptre isn't highlighted as a RGB item. Many people use 3L Quartz Sceptre for leveling. There's a cheap recipe that gives +1 to lightning/cold/fire gems which makes it a very good weapon early on for a variety of skills (Fire Trap, Flame Totem, Lightning Tendrils etc.). Quartz Sceptre are highlighted by a red border until level 25. Between 25 and 51 they are simply displayed without any highlighting as they might still be useful. The section that deals with these "Leveling Specials" is located above the RGB section in the filter, meaning it takes precedence and this sometimes causes confusion if the Sceptre in question has a chromatic linking. Once you're in a zonelevel above 51, they will be shown as chromatic items again. Do you have a paypal account? Can I donate something for your effort? I don't like the company for a whole lot of reasons so I try to avoid using it where I can. I really do appreciate the thought, though. If you feel like donating anyway, consider donating to a charity and let me know. That would certainly warm my heart :) Some people donated Reddit Gold, which I also very much enjoy(ed). Thank you

More specific Highlight/Show:
Change behavior based on zone level During leveling you will see less and less normal/magic items as you progress. Generally normal and magic items are shown as long as they are appropriate for the current zone. By default items need a certain amount of sockets to be shown to reduce clutter. This can be modified using the various toggles existing in the script. Rare items are highlighted if their basetype is the currently highest available. Example: You are in a level 21 zone and a rare "Recurve Bow" (DropLevel = 20) drops, it will receive a rare border to indicate that there is currently no better bow basetype available. Once "Bone Bows" (DropLevel = 24) become available because you moved to a higher zone, those will receive the border. This is done for every Body Armour / Weapon basetype currently in the game. Best Filter EU!
| |
When I try to load it in the game I get this message
Failed to load item filter: Line 12652: unable to parse parameter for base type rule: no base types found matching "Maelstorm Staff"
Uploaded a new version, can you try right clicking the link and choose "Save link to" and then rename the file to "something.filter"?
I believe it has something to do with charsets/encodings being changed if you copy/paste the content to a new file. One Filter to Rule Them All: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1259059

I tried the new file, got the same error message but with a different line number, 14988
| |
Can't reproduce the error. If I download the file and safe it as oftrta_muldini_v0.7b.filter in my PoE folder, it loads without error.
You can try to remove the three blocks for Maelström Staff around the line number you mentioned. If I find out what's causiung this I'll upload a new version. One Filter to Rule Them All: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1259059 Last edited by Muldini on May 3, 2015 11:04:22 AM

You know that you can simply make 1 role for this 200 items list? and save like 200 lines?...

Great filter, very robust.
I do question the validity of showing 'all' quality items until 75+... it's all about the space, so even at low levels I'm only looking at 1x3 and 2x2 items and pots. I'm not really interested in tower shields and longbows and 2h weapons - they're just too large, even at low level. I'm not yet sure if I want to have a base threshold on item quality, however, since even sub-5 quality can balance out a 40 point lot.
" It's not the same as generating a list that says "Show this BaseType until two higher BaseTypes of the same class are available". Yours would be an approximation. That is unless all BaseTypes of different classes have the same DropLevel, which I doubt. One Filter to Rule Them All: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1259059

" Thank you for testing and providing feedback. I really appreciate it. Could you elaborate on the "all quality items" part? I believe only certain items that have quality are shown unless they have 20% quality. If you mean thatone then I agree, ideas on how to improve that block?
