jewels discussion: bringing RNG and Economy to the Passive Tree

Haha it does not matterwhat blizzard intended, it mattered what it was. 99% of the "balance" of the game was not intentional by blizzard.
The logical conclusion is that ultimately every node on the skill tree will be able to be rolled with currency.

And so eventually will the current skill gems. Oh and they will probably come up with some function to use currency on NPCs...and area zones

GGG wont be happy until this is the default way to play the game(without the outside rng generator, it will just happen as you go)

Ziggys RNG Challenge
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-

that's what Miljan keeps trying to tell you, and you keep trying not to listen.

a game with an economy need not be a game about economy, if it is an ARPG.
a game with an RNG need not be a game about RNG, unless it's Craps.
and even there RNG has its limits. boundaries. specific roles to play.

Splift is correct though, PoE and D2 are pretty much the same when it comes to economy and RNG. So if D2 wasn't about economy and RNG, PoE isn't too (and it actually isn't, you're exaggerating as usual).
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I hear him quite fine.

PoE is no more enconomy than d2 was. You can play both games without it or with it just fine.

As there is something like too little currency sink (see vanilla D3), there is also something like too much. So I don't see that as a logical conclusion unless they significantly increase drop rates.

Normally that it maters, as they didnt want to balance it around economy, so it was not as we can see in the end. And thank god it was not, otherwise we would see same crap as we see in PoE.

So Blizzard intended to let its players solo farm Zod runes for literally half of their entire life? Don't be silly :P

Regardless, someone who trades and participates in economy in d2 will always have stronger chars than someone who is self found, just like poe.

Does not matter what blizzard intended, what mattered was reality.

Actually that was grand ol blizzards intention until players duped around it.

Such great design these guys are defending.

It matter what blizazrd intended, because if they wanted to have economy they implement same crap as in PoE. You want rune words? Lets add rng so there is 10% that if put them in right order you get the item you want. You want to use skill? You will first need to get some runes to put on items to get sockets so you can use them.

Yea, reality hurts, and you can see and compare a game balanced from ground up around economy POE, and all the shitty mechanic that are there only as curency sink, to d2, where you dont have that additional layer of bulshit. But you keeping ignoring it will not change the simple facts that they are night and day and nothing alike. And no, having items thta are hard to get and have low drop rates is not same as balance from ground up for economy (every arpg, including d3 has items that are hard to get, but people fail in their thinking so hard).

Dude you can play poe just fine without trading, im beginning to the the real problem is you just dont know how to play.

Can you imagine what d2 would be like if things like enigma were as rare as blizzard intended? The few who owned them would dominate pvp and ruin one of d2 strongest points (pvp was great in d2).

Why do you keep saying things like "reality hurts" or I am butthurt? Where do you see that in my posts. I am trying to explain this to you like I would explain basic math to a child.
