Rain and Load Times

Rain is bad in this game: in the virtual world of Wraeclast, water is not needed...
Rain affect the mood.

Everytime it rain...I'm loaded :o

I have more of a fps issue when the rain asset is loaded. i normaly run around 50-60 fps and when a level with rain especialy imperial gardens i get anywhere between a 15-30 fps hit. Im running amd black 2.6 quad with 6gig ram and 2gb 6670. I guessing my machine cant handle the mass of particles and an option to turn it down would be apriciated.

WTF is wrong with you people??

People are asking for an option to lower/disable particle effects, something which is more or less standard, and have been for years in pc games. And you want that option NOT implemented because you're not going to use it? What's it to you? Does the option being there somehow interfere with your gaming? How?

Yes, it takes away developers time they can spend on other stuff.

You could say that about any aspect of the game. And GGG is aware these effects need optimising; they have acknowledged it's an issue, and ANY serious developer would prioritise that their game ran as smooth as possible across as many configurations as possible, with user options implemented to widen the gap. Anything else would be financial suicide.

I'll OHK this one right here: Chris mentioned himself that they tested Crossroads with and without rain. SO THE OPTION IS ALREADY IN THE GAME. It just needs to be userenabled. I'm guessing (IAMNAP) this wouldn't be a days work for an experienced programmer.

And just to re-iterate for the feebleminded: I DON'T need this feature. But acting like it's only an issue for a minority, and thus should be ignored reeks of entitled 1-worlder white middleclass BS.

If you don't want to think about that stuff, buy a console.

As for people complaining about the platform the tests were performed on, come on fellas. That is a really low bar.

I'll murder these 2 too, while I'm at it.

1. But, this is not a console game! This is a pcgame. You do know what those have, right? That's right: OPTIONS! Graphical options, usually more than you can shake a stick at. Playing on a top tier diamond encrusted plated gold tower with a gazillion gigaflops, turn 'em up. Playing on a refurbished toasteroven; turn 'em down. That is pc gaming.

2. What do we know about what the platform was tested on?

The machine I tested on also has integrated graphics (Intel HD 5000).

That's it. Notice the wording. It's not even clear if it WAS tested with integrated graphics, just that the machine had it. So does mine (Intel HD 4600), but thats not what I use for games. So let's quit discussing something we don't have info on, OK?
And even if it was the test GPU: Yeah, thats a low bar. But it might also suggest that whatever problems people have it isn't only related to the GPU itself.

I
AM
CALLING
BULLSHIT !!!

EVERY zone that has rain takes noticeably longer for me to load. 100% of the time. 99% of the time the grace timer runs out in a rain zone. Even hideouts with rain my guild mates laugh at me cause I'm waiting to zone in and they see me standing in their hideout without my heralds on, but on my screen it's just the splash screen of death ( aptly named after trying bloodlines with this rain zone load bullshit )

So to re-iterate...... BULLSHIT!!!

Bullshit.

If there was an option *just* to disable rain, this would be a great option.

Our action simulation has almost nothing to do with client graphical options - are you sure you're using the term desync correctly?

Yes Chris I am using the term Desync properly.

I'm not telling people what they will spend their money on, I'm just saying that if you want to play video games on PC, you should expect to spend at least some money on your components. It's just common sense ! Gaming requires better than the basic specs that the majority of people use just to work on Microsoft Word and check vids on Youtube, nothing wrong with saying that. If you can't put at least some money on your PC, you should not expect to play recent games, that's all what I'm saying. The dude I was answering to said litteraly that we should take in consideration people that can't afford to put any money at all on their PC. And I'm just giving objective raw numbers : compared to what people usually put for their CPU and GPU, what you have to put to get an SSD now has gone down a lot. When I got my SSD 4 years ago it was going around 200€ for a 128gb one, it means the same price of a really decent gaming GPU/CPU. Now, it is third of that price (60-70€). That's all I said. Numbers.

- Crucial Ballistix 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.5V
- Asus Radeon R9 270X, 2GB DDR5 (256 Bit)
- ASRock Fatal1ty B85 Killer, B85, DualDDR3-1600, SATA3, ATX (B85 Killer)
- Intel CORE i5-4460 3.20GHz
Total of around 620$ (converting, it may vary, because I simply converted it from currency in my country to dollars...), not counting in SSD, with it would be around 800$.
I'm still having problems. To date, I ran everything on highest possible settings, with no problems.

So, I STRONGLY disagree that this lies on user end, and that user needs to throw even more money, because game is terribly optimized.

I'd rather give that money to GGG, so they can finally fix it.

Desync happens to me when i use quicksilver flasks and movement speed skills primarily. Rain doesnt factor into it at all. Maybe its just on your end and some other people.

GGG should test stuff on multiple machines though with different parts to get the full experience but none of the players posts their PC specs so how can GGG test the rain thing properly if they dont have those same engines?

No. You are lagged. Not desynched. Sucks even worse to be lagged.
I feel like I have to mention it again.

Posting your specs without backup information is useless.

Click start, run, dxdiag, save all information. POST THAT FILE.

Until you do that, your "specs" are bullshit.
