Rain and Load Times

lots of random words

Post your specs.

All of you.

Click start, run, dxdiag, save all information. POST THAT FILE.

If you want devs to tailor the game to your PC, they need more info that WAAA I SPENT 1000 DOLLARS HOW DARE YOU POVERTY!

1) writing "random words" there is kinda rude. But ok, that's not the point

2) People don't want GGG to "tailor the game to their PC". They want the CHOICE, the options, MORE available options to tweak the game without any considerable "game atmosphere impact". IMO, rain in some locations doesn't give THAT much of a "immersion" into the game.

3) And fyi, devs don't need to know each and every PC configuration.
Why? Because it's not even necessary to solve this particular problem.
The issue is with the particles and how they are handled; particles need more options to control the density\limit displayable amount\frequency\whatever else. That's it.
This can be "solved" by implementing a simple switch (for start).

But since you demand the specs, here you go
Spoiler
Notebook HP Pavilion g6-1225sr
  • AMD Dual-Core A4-3300M (1.9GHz)
  • DDR3 RAM 4 Gb
  • HDD 640 Gb
  • AMD Radeon HD 6510G2 ("dual graphics card", combination of 6480G+6470M, 1Gb dedicated, integrated video disabled)

As i said earlier - used different official programs\tweakers and achieved reasonable game performance.
The only thing which can't be affected by those programs is the rain

Now, please, enlighten me: how exactly would MY notebook specs help to implement the god damn "turn rain on\off" button?

I feel like I have to mention it again.

Posting your specs without backup information is useless.

Until you do that, your "specs" are bullshit.

following your requirement, people here can post a huge variety of system setups.
good luck trying to build some sort of statistic, and basing some sort of claim on that.

I won't. I posted them already, in Open Beta, and they didn't change much since.
my beautiful potato the "usual trolls" so love to make fun of.

what did change, is how the exact same game I was capable of running on medium settings and even - got forbid - party a bit back then (note: BETA), now freezes solid on manually-set "mud graphics", in solo play.
a whole year past release. more than a handful of major patches.

also note, that I'm regularly doing performance tweaks I didn't know how to do, back then.
like .ggpk defragment, software audio, shader cache management and whatnot.

so let me just say this to GGG directly: the game is now a bloated mess. isn't it finally about time to do something about it, ffs?

Thats not from dxdiag.

The reason I ask for the actual specs is in the hope the devs can create exact environments to test the issues that people are having. "DDR RAM 4GB" isn't helpful. "HDD 640 Gb" is also missing information.

Thats not dual graphics card. The 6480G is disabled?

Based on those specs, you wont be able to run most newer games well, let alone PoE.

The reason it's gotten worse since beta is that they have updated texture models and a whole bunch of other things.

Conclusion : Your laptop is old and unpowered. It wont be able to play newer games well.

If you were able to run the game on medium settings in Beta, theres no chance you can do that now.

It seems like you are in a similar boat as HarukaTeno. Your system is old and outdated however for some reason you think the developers of this free game should support your ancient system.

It's not going to happen.

Supporting "ancient" systems isn't as hard as you think, just add an option to turn off rain and other useless particle spam.
Every game has options like this, even the free ones, so why not this one?

It IS actually really difficult to support older systems. Disabling particles might work, might not.

Look they probably will enable this soon, but the kind of language used in a lot of the posts in this thread is NOT the way you ask for special treatment for non supported tech.

Sorry if I seem rude but I deal with this pretty frequently at work.

older?

this game is 2 years old and it has issues with top-mid computers 4 years old?

no they just went crazy on partial effects and refuse to admit how much of a drag that is on everyone that doesn't have top ends from the year the game was created.

Spoiler
i'm only partially trolling.

Thanks for looking into QoL issues. Anything you can do to help players focus more on the game, and be less distracted by system frustrations is a big step in the right direction.

That's one of the the stupidest argument I have ever heard. What is amazing is the fact that it is posted here so often.
And why do I think it is stupid? Well it's obvious: because the engine did not change since CB. Therefore, the game should perform at least not worse than in CB (on the systems that were around during CB and of course on all newer systems). Period.
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
