PoE reddit hits a new low
" No game, including PoE can survive a 40% kick of users. Fully half to 2/3 of those would never come back, so you are asking for a permanent loss of 1/3 of the player base. GGG wouldn't survive it. The player base it dangerously small for this game already IMHO. I doubt they can survive losing 10% of the player base, let alone 40%. Last edited by jaredh#4053 on Jan 13, 2015, 3:13:04 PM

" Wrong. GGG will very much survive without even 80% of its western playerbase. They must just make sure they don't touch the Taiwan servers. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" In other games it would mean losing 1/3 of their income but since not everyone donates money to GGG im sure some of those 40% dont even pay a single cent. So it wouldnt be as severe anyways money wise, and GGG can advertise POE as a safe and secure game to new players and lure them in easier. Win-win. |

" some time ago i used to watch asian poe streams(they had alot of interesting and sick builds) one thing i noticed with like 4 out of 5 streams was they used tools to highlite "important" drops. so if they dont touch the asian market guess where all the people that get banned on western servers will go to? | |
Im probably not that affected by cheaters since I dont race, but its still annoying knowing that people break the rules in a game you love, so I am patiently waiting to see "Banned" under peoples names in near future, hope they had fun wasting their time on all those chars and items just to have them thrown into the void. Hope they bought supporter packs too.

" As long as those people are not in the Western servers and GGG keeps making bank, it is all nice and dandy :). This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

GGG must either ban everyone using the HUDs and multihack tools, or release an offline version of the game. The argument for online-only becomes tremendously weak if they can't provide an even playing field.
Alternatives: a. Characters on accounts flagged for cheating permanently forfeit access to act 4. b. Characters on accounts not flagged for cheating receive 1 mirror every 200 hours of active gameplay. Flagged accounts can never receive a mirror or a mirrored item, not even from trading. Existing mirrors and mirrored items on flagged accounts are removed. Additionally, characters on flagged accounts are permanently unable to enter races or competitive events. Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client. Last edited by Vhlad#6794 on Jan 13, 2015, 3:35:40 PM

" so item highlighting is not ok but couple of the "bigger" poe streamers using and advertising 1 button auto logout scripts is ok ? Last edited by Esto#2689 on Jan 13, 2015, 3:26:40 PM

" One must assume that GGG has balanced the economy around those streamers, but the damage the highlighting would cause if it became more widespread is likely not something GGG has balanced around yet. The economy is the no1 priority. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" They must not do anything, they do whatever they want and you will have to abide by it. All online games has cheating in them, its just how the world works. There are cheaters everywhere, in all aspects of life, you cant catch them all, sadly. While cheats ruin races, you wont be affected by it much in the normal leagues, you probably would never notice it, but I find it annoying just knowing there are cheaters breaking the rules, so I hope to see some banwaves in the near future. However I know they wont get everyone. Online or offline wouldnt make any difference in this matter because the cheaters wont hurt you. |
