PoE reddit hits a new low
" Free. Pretty close to a gift for a ton of people, but yeah product and all that stuff. I could go into how ggg is more connected to the community than most companies and try to provide the best they can and blah blah blah everything everyone knows and doesn't need to be told. It doesn't matter anyways. Cheating an online game sucks for everyone. If it doesn't hurt now, it will at some point. Last edited by taylorfest#6775 on Jan 13, 2015, 2:26:47 PM

Yep it is crap for sure.
People seem to be behind GGG and say they support them in what ever they do against the cheaters (spit) but will action drive people from the game and will there be enough people left after GGG takes action against the cheaters (spit) to still make POE a viable business? Forum signature

" GGG has shitty coders. I presume that once the hack goes closed source and works around the hack detection (which appears to be questionable in terms of privacy to begin with since it dumps a list ALL PROCESSES), GGG won't be able to reverse engineer the hack, and we'll see something similar to Runescape where only the most flagrant of botters get banned. Then again, that's how it currently is today. Honestly, if GGG just made the game server side, there wouldn't be hacking or desync. Easier said than done, but that's the only realistic solution. Either that or GGG could hire a hack/bot writer. " Free, but still a revenue model. Pretty righteous one at that. Totally agree, cheating sucks. But I also agree, poorly optimized particle effects suck. And I also agree that off-white/light brown is a shitty color for something as important currency in a sea of white trash. Don't use the program, and won't, but man... those features! No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

Wow I honestly kinda want to try this out not for the map hack or any other cheats that I would never use but what I'm reading you disable the rain.... When ever I walk in to doms place that rain lowers my fps to all most nothing or even peoples hideouts with rain make me dc on the spot

I don't cheat. I don't use third party tools that I haven't personally verified. I am *extremely* upset that PoE client is now examining my computer and sending data back to the server. I am uninstalling.

Well if you set out to make a f2p game inspired by d2 I'd hope you're ready for a whole lotta cheating to happen. There was a huge span of time during which Blizzard pretty much abandoned d2 but kept the servers up and people just ran wild. There had always been cheaters but I had never before encountered online gamers with an entitled attitude that cheats were just qol and the "if it makes it more fun for me I should be able to do it" thinking until I got back in to d2 after a long break when Blizzard started patching it again. Cheating was a standard part of d2 for quite a lot of players and openly discussed quite a bit.
I would not expect Chris to be caught off guard by this at all given how real he when he talks about other aspects of the game and dealing with users. When I kill a man he stays dead. Last edited by mucker#5845 on Jan 13, 2015, 2:50:28 PM
