so much salty nerf tears But why people seem to ignore tremendously more OP builds with a LOT LESS investment yes im talking about Cast on fucken critical discharge got a shabby dagger? np go do a CoC discharge and faceroll uber Atziri with it i dont get the people in this thread crying about tornado shot? what is the problem you cant roll good bows anymore because GGG removed hybrid mod? yeah thats why nobody should have nice things right? TL;DR think tornadoshot is OP? roll a shabby CoC Discharge faceroll every mapboss including uber atziri with no investment into defense EZY Pezy and nobody say a word goddamn it. edit: i just want to add that my friend on torment facerolled normal atziri in the first weak with a shabby CoC discharge.. and people cry about tornado shot jeesus. " only thing i do not agree is Ball Lightning. BL was PERFECTLY viable on release but people tried (and failed hilariously) to use it 'the old way'. after the buff it is pretty rotflstompy. but you are right - people dont care as there are more streamed skills out there.. and it wasnt the Lightning Arrow that got shafted - it was Chain nerf on OB release (first) and removal of shock stacking lately (second). the skill pretty much remains the same with the small exception of flat shock chance removal sometime in CB iirc Last edited by sidtherat#1310 on Jan 5, 2015, 2:39:14 PM

" I know perfectly well you don't agree on BL, oh, it worked and had certain advantages if used properly, but base damage was a bit lowish to be a truly strong contender :) So the almost universal verdict was 'meh', however, once they buffed up the damage it became pretty good, but I still don't see it used very much. Yeah, LA is the most directly and indirectly nerfed skill in the game hands down. It had its damage lowered along with number of hits and its shock chance got removed along with indirect nerfs you mentioned. It was beyond godly once and now it's 'just decent'. You know, LA was once very similar to TS, it was an attack that could shotgun (kind of, not this blatantly), could easily exploit the most broken mechanic ever in this game (shock stacks) and did absolutely ridiculous damage in most scenarios. And it's interesting that LA is directly responsible for current lameness of chain support. Imagine what would happen if devs nerfed LMP and GMP because of TS? That's exactly what happened with LA, chain was the unfortunate victim of a single unbalanced skill, as the gem is okayish at most, and on a very limited number of skills at that. By the way, if you're reading this, zzang, there's your answer why having a properly balanced skill roster is good. If LA from back then was in line with other bow skills we would skill have great chain support, there would be little reason to nerf it so hard. I don't have anything personal against TS, if a nail sticks out I get a strong urge to grab a hammer, you never know when will you tear your pants on it otherwise. " Ball Lightning got an indirect buff with Heart of Thunder getting a buff, and Celestial Judgement notable being added in patch 1.3. With this setup, I am very close to 60% light penetration (Herald of Thunder got 25% light penetration). Since Arc is my multi-target spell, I had to switch out the setup of using LMP with BL, and ended up replacing with Added Chaos Damage. I am glad that BL is not that popular. Arc on the other hand is up there, but I remember Arc was trashy back in the days that it was in a pitiful state. " you make it sound like TS is any kind of "outstanding" better put on your monocle and look closer to CoC discharge which by the way have nothing to do with shotgunning and then come back and tell me you find TS OP in comparision. Because... - it's so old an so ridiculously OP that nobody even argues it anymore - it's irrelevant to the discussion, we're comparing TS to other bow skills here And chain... well, again, best you give it a shot on some normal projectile skill and see for yourself. It's good only on attack skills that can invoke that indirect shotgunning effect I mentioned before and most projectile spells have much better options for that slot, even spells like lightning trap and EK which were supposed to work really good with it. Besides the theory, dunno if you noticed it also works kinda iffy in practice, you just don't get that 50% more damage multiplier you should. Dunno where the problem is, might be the engine, but the point is it just isn't used as much as you'd expect when you see it, unlike fork which doesn't even look promising. " i still dont get it, i use chain on my power siphon wander no shotgunning, i shred things to pieces with it. Really you should take a look sometime outside the box. EK and lightning trap are utter garbage skills that have bad scaling potential thats the problem there is nothing wrong with chain. |
