The main source of frustation, especially for new players

"
is ever going to change my perpesctive about 5L and 6L. They are things that should be easily accessible to even the bigest noob and worse player once he reaches the minimum level to have them. This is a point I will never concede. These things are important to make entire builds work.

1. These things are accessible to the biggest noob if he/she invests the time to farm at least a few chaos for a tabula. Its your stubborness that hinders you from using said item. Its designed delibaretly to provide linked space for testing builds until you get something better.

2. A well rolled 6link is a real goal to strive for. If it woul dbe handed to you at level 35 what do you actually play for?

3. There are plenty of builds that dont require 5 and 6 liinked gear and only get stronger with it. Handing out 5 links and 6 links at every corner would trivialize a lot of things and would make the gearing progress blant and boring.

4. There are far less builds taht REQUIRE a 5/6 link to actually work mechanically as you claim. Your example of your super defensive build with the blood magic gem at lvl 35 is no example of a build that REQUIRES a 5 link, thats an arbitrary choice YOU made and that hinders your build progression. Instead of thinking of ways how to accomplish a comparable thing with a four link, a cheap five link or whatever you just claim that your build REQUIRES at least a five link to wokr mechanically which is not true.

Example of a build that doesnt work under five links:
Bear Trap + Added Fire + Chance to Ignite + Increased Burning damage + Ele Proliferation
In order to reiable proc burns and to reach a signifiatn burning damage you need five links here.
But thats a freaking niche build!

People often think melee needs five links to work because the want AoE. But there are plenty of skills with build in AoE even for melee, so by using Cleave, REave, Lightning Strike, Ground Slam, Leap Slam, Cyclone, Sweep or MOlten Strike you can just scrap the Melee Splash and be perfectly fine on a 4 link.

Bottom line: there are more ways than necessary to gain a five/six link to experience interesting builds. Making it even easier would serve no one. The way it is right now actually requires of you to inform yourself about the game and be clever about how you play. The game is not designed for people who play without thinking.

A bigger problem than 5/6 links in my eyes is socket colors, I would support a way to making coloring easier at least once per character or something.

Guys! Guys! SteveZ says you can farm dom on a boring ass MF character until your eyes bleed and just buy your gear from the elite. It makes perfect sense. Thank you, SteveZ, for imparting with us this invaluable knowledge upon us mere plebs. Game is totally fine now. Fuckin A, SteveZ, you really are quite the asset to this community.

SteveZ's point is valid tho. even 200 hours should give like 50ex worth of alts.

That point is valid tho.

About as valid as becoming a millionaire by saving money. So, if you set aside 50$ a day times 365,25 days it means you will become a millionaire in 54 years, 10 months and 4 days. But what are you going to live on for those 54 years, 10 months and 4 days?
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Or just a new player to the game. How do you think this game will survive without new players? Think before throwing nonsense.

No they are not. If they are to be even minimaly good they have to be specific armour type, you need to have them as you hit various points in the levels so as to upgrade your defenses.

A well rolled 6 link is something to strive for? Well sure, Let me tell you the key words here. WELL and ROLLED. 6L are not part of the keywords. Any well rolled piece of equipment is something to strive for. a 5L or 6L is not something that you should need to strive for, is something that you are expected to easily get your hands on in order to progress your build.

Handing out 5L and 6L as you say will not trivialise anything, it will make the leveling process fun for everyone! You should be looking for well rolled stuff and uniques, not that piece of crap item that happens to have a 6L so that you can finally make your build work!

Most builds require 5L. Builds that require 4L are few. A build that requires 4L is a build that nearly gets no benifict at all from a 5L or a 6L because they don't need extra utillity nor do they need extra DPS at that point because the clear speed is already phenomenal. Any build that gets a significant boost to clear speed or a significant boost in utility by adding a single link is a build that REQUIRES that extra link to work properly.

And to counter your bottom line. There are no reliable cheap ways to get a proper 5L or 6L in the game. You can get a bad 5L cheap (mixed defense), you may get a cheap 5L if the gods are smiling upon you (because those offers last only a few minutes and rarely show up) and you will by no means get a 6L reliably or cheap, no matter how bad the 6L actually is.

The stars cried out
And under the ashes of infinity
Hope, scarred and bleeding breathed it's last."

Are you suggesting that 200 hours of farming with the same boring ass magic find build, selling trash for scraps, to eventually have a handful of crafting attempts, is acceptable?

Please tell me this is not truly what you deem to be an acceptable amount of time for just a handful of crafting attempts.

By 200 hours i think somebody should have at least one or 2 GG items. By 1000+ at least one full gear set, this means found or crafted, not tycooned.
