************------- ES Low Life Build Disclaimer -------*********** This isn't really a build guide, I don't recommend it unless you already own most items. Actually, unless you have a free respec lying around on a level 88+ Witch or Shadow don't do the ES version of the build. Ranger is not the most optimal. Life based build is easy to level but will cost regrets to respec.
2.0 Update - not dead, just badly wounded
Did my best - about 5K ES and 10k DPS with 5 power charges and no blood rage. Auras: HoI + HoT + CoH + Assassins Mark Enlighten (2) + Discipline + PoE Enlighten (3) + Empower + Anger + Wrath AoE: Tornado Shot + Life Leech + GMP + Crit Multi + Item Rarity + Faster Attacks (or Accuracy) WeD would be nice, but I can't be bothered recolouring the chest.
Gear
Thoughts on the changes: DPS is slightly less - Acuity seem to be worse than Vaal Pact - Blood Rage isn't worth the degen. Life Leech against solo bosses is terrible - struggled against Dominus when it used to be full ES the entire fight.
1.3.0 Level 90 Witch Respec
Stats: http://i.imgur.com/DtDOJ0L.jpg Not really nerfed. Bandits: Kill All - Kill All - Power Charge. Still needs optimising, but here are some stats: >4.8k ES, 14k DPS with crit multi (10k with IIR and 21.7k with WeD + Crit Multi) >88% critical strike chance (93%+ at level 91 - need to respec bandit quest, 20 regrets OP). >Capped Lightning and Fire resistance, just need 56% cold resistance on gear, shouldn't be too hard seeing as almost none of my gear has resists. >Same MF, which can be improved with better gear. >Mortal Conviction nerf removes Empower + one 40% aura, or one Herald. Dropping Empower linked to Disc + Wrath lowers ES by 200 and DPS slightly, I like Haste so I would't drop that for two empowered auras. So you can still run 4 x 60% auras, 1 x 40% aura and 2 x 25% auras OR 4 x 60% auras, 2 x 40% auras and 1 x 25% aura. Overall Witch has more ES and the same DPS. Check Gear for Aura Links (still needs optimising, I would put HoI or Anger into +1 boots).

Life based leveling build - requires about 30 respec points to swap to low life ES
If you wanted to level as a life base before transitioning to ES low life I would probably use something like this: It's not optimised, but it shouldn't cost a huge amount of regrets to respec once you hit level 88+. If you save the 18 free respec points you get from leveling it would cost you about 12 extra regret orbs to make the switch. You can add on Ondar's + Acrobatics if you need to, Revelry is also along the way if you use mana instead of the Blood Magic support gem.
Cheaper Life Based Version - No need for Vaal Pact / Acuity or Shavronne's

4L: Reduced Mana + Anger + Wrath + Herald of Ice 3L: Herald of Thunder + Curse on Hit + Assassin's Mark If you want to run Grace/Haste drop the 4% reduced mana reservation next to Scion and use Alpha's Howl for: Reduced Mana + Anger + Wrath + Grace/Haste The passive tree is generic Crit + Life + Ondar's + Acrobatic + Aura build that uses the blood magic gem for attacks, this is what it should look like in 1.30:
Life Based Gear:
Key concepts to this build: -LL BM Mortal Conviction Aura Stacking -LGoH coupled with the above (2-4 from gear, not the support gem) -Vaal Pact / Atziri's Acuity + Ghost Reaver -Dream Fragments (on switch or Auxium if you have better resistance gear) -Dispel freeze/shock/bleed flasks -Culling Strike -If you use a life flask instead of LGoH with Acuity you want about 60-100 Life/s on the flask, with Vaal Pact you want 150-200 Life/s as well as 2 LGoH or more. -You can run 4 x 60% auras, 1 x 40% aura and 2 x 25% auras OR 4 x 60% auras, 2 x 40% auras and 1 x 25% aura.

Recommended Gem Setup with Vaal Pact (You need at least 2 LGoH) AoE: Tornado Shot + GMP + PCoC + Life Leech + Added Accuracy (Culling Strike in Party) + Crit Multi (or IIR) AoE Boss Killing DPS: TS + LMP + PCoC + LL + AAcc + Crit Multi Single Target: Ice Shot + IIQ + IIR + Culling Strike + Life Leech This build does work with Vaal Pact, you just have to carry one of these around, the low level means you don't regen instantly and the low charges required means you always have it ready: I do no-regen maps with this flask easily along with +2 Life Gained on Hit from a ring. Note: You want to use a low level life flask, Great or Grand depending on the skill cost, as Tornado shot levels up I find that I need more regen from the flask, so crafting a Surgeon's Grand Life Flask of Staunching now. Build Discussion Points: -For 1 point 4% Spell Damage per Power Charge is available, making CoE possible. -The higher the level of this build the better the damage, level 90 is best for Vaal Pact, 87 for Acuity. -Witch is better for ES, Shadow is better for DPS, Ranger is what I had a free respec for. -This is by no means maximum IIQ / IIR, but it has potential. -Cold damage is important to Windripper MF as freezing bosses and exiles above in 75+ maps isn't guaranteed. -Going Vaal Pact and using Maligaro's should net similar DPS to a legacy crit damage quiver. -Tornado Shot + GMP is the best skill combo for AoE. -Mana cost of TS ranges from 23 with IIQ/IIR to 32 with Life Leech/Crit Multi (lvl 17). -If you want maximised DPS check out Flubby's Scion.

Different Skill Setups
Split + Pierce
4.5k ES now instead of 4.25k. Split Arrow + Pierce + Drillneck: 20k Split + Pierce - much higher base cold damage than chain - good freezes. 16k with Lioneye's Glare along with far greater physical leech from blood rage. 17k with this bow better phys leech and higher crit than lioneye's, but slower: Mana cost of only 12, goes up to 15 with life leech - don't need vitality. More prone to reflect due to higher base damage - killed a reflect pack in 73 map, took off 1/2 my ES, avoidable, single target has life leech. Reflect map easy with life leech gem in 6L.
Tornado Shot
Tornado Shot 19k with LMP and level 14 gem 14k with GMP and level 14 gem (83k with DPS gear + WeD + Crit Multi) I like the spread of tornado shot, it also seems to have high base damage allowing for good freezes. It's possible to use leap slam on a Brightbeak in weapon swap, but I just use a 30% quicksilver, with that I hit around 100% move speed, it's my preferred method of movement as it's less prone to desync.

Hey man, I've got a windripper character going at the moment, and her DPS is at around 40k with GMP TS, was just wondering if you could link your DPS gear setup somewhere so that I could see why there is such a small difference in DPS between us when you're setup costs a couple hundred more ex than mine. Hey Draconyn - I know this build isn't optimised for DPS, it picks up quite a lot of pathing nodes to be able to get to blood magic, as well as cold damage nodes which don't boost overall damage that much, but allow for a greater chance to freeze which procs the 25% IIQ on Windripper.
I haven't focused too much on the DPS side of things because having 14k GMP + TS at the moment seems fine for 75 maps, I even tend to socket in Crit Multi now, which brings it up to 20k GMP at the sacrifice of 67% IIR from the IIR gem. I still have culling IIQ/IIR on single target. Here is my attempt at pushing the DPS up, only have lvl 2 Empower and non-quality lvl 15-16 TS:

Problem is, I would need mirrored / better rings, belt, amulet and boots to get the resists needed to make this possible, or sacrifice a DPS aura for Purity of Elements. I can't be bothered balancing resists just to get DPS that 1 shots instead of 2 shots. If you want a fully optimised DPS Windripper low life check out Flubby, I think he made one. Not shown here but the DPS is 53k with life leech, compared to 83k with WeD. Keep in mind that this is with a level 15 non-quality Tornado Shot on a level 89 Ranger. Witch and Shadow are much better suited, saving 7 Passive Points - using them at level 90+ I could see this build passing 100k GMP + TS if that was what I wanted, but I don't! IGN: MrG. Where do you get your leech from since I don't see any leech on gear other than flask? I don't think there is elemental leech on tree right?

When I am doing low level easy maps I use Drillneck for the +13-21 physical damage along with Atziri's Flask for leech, the physical damage along with 20/20 Blood Rage buffed by Inner Force to 12% Life Leech from physical attacks is enough, if the situation gets bad pop Atziri's Promise and the instant leech is rather good.
For maps 73+ with high quantity / difficult mobs I swap the IIQ gem with life leech gem, it is a massive boost to survivability and makes coming across random elemental reflect packs a non-issue. If you don't have a Windripper you can instead use a physical bow with high crit chance and the life leech from blood rage along with Vaal Pact or Acuity would be sufficient to not need the life leech gem for most situations (haven't tested it myself on a reflect map).
