Legal Vs. Ethical in HC

If it is the former then good.
If it is the latter then not so good.

You are all welcome, munchkins.

That kinda fails when GGG themselves will suggest you use "external assistance in the form of 3rd party programs" for quite a few things.
Casually casual.

In which case GGG is wrong. If you want your rules to be coherent there needs to be some way for a neutral person to distinguish between actions that are good and actions that are bad according to the rules.

There isn't any external 3rd party service that couldn't just be a part of the game. All the current system does is it confuses people and creates greyzones "this third party program is alright obvously! This other one? Not so much, for arbritrary reasons."

Just ban all third party programs, implement the (what you believe to be) good features yourself and get rid of all the rest. It's not that hard to take a coherent stance.

For you have to ask yourself "If X is really such a good feature, why the hell isn't part of the game itself!? Get on it!"

No point in making excuses for the devs.

My 2 cents.

When a players gaming experience and quality of life goes up drastically by using cheats ( not hacks ) then you should step back and analyze your code.

My favorite example:
Why do so many streamers use zoomhack and who knows how many of the playerbase?

It's most likely because even when fully zoomed out your view is so limited you get offscreened.... simple fix would be to let us zoom out so we don't get offscreened.

It's sad but true, there are a lot of these type of examples where the gaming experience is improved by cheating. fix the damn code and players won't cheat nearly as much.

Thats like telling the partner to put out more because the only reason youre cheating is because you aint getting none at home. :/

POV in POE is fine, if people feel the need to use hax then theyre just not good enough to handle the game the way its intended to be played.

But the things are quite explicit. Some people are grasping at straws to excuse themselves.
You know why hack is called hack?
Some people are willingly playing dumb, if you are able to get programs such as MH and whatnot you are very well able to know what is right and what is not.

Their defense is that since it isn't specifically banned by GGG that they are happy to use it. They only look at where it's legal to use said macros, but ignore the larger question of whether it is ethical to use them. Streamer 2 further defends his use of an auto potter/logout macro by stating that he got it from streamer 1 and since streamer 1 uses it, he can use it. Such circular logic confuses me.

And thats wrong. Logout macros are allowed and necessary to avoid dying due to shitty netcode. You call it cheating, I call it a feature that makes a hardcore environment fair.

I am not interested in constantly getting fucked because the game decided to desync me back into a pack I already abandoned or teleports me into rooms I never set foot into. As soon as these issues are resolves they can ban any form of instant logout mechanics or macros for all I care.

But as the game is right now they are necessary to not punish the games players for its shitty online design. Half of the time you dont even know that youre desynced. You just notice because your health suddenly drops even though not seeing a single mob on your screen. Bringing up ethics here is a moot point. Just because I dont like being fucked for doing literally nothing wrong that doesnt mean that what I do is unethical or in any way cheating.

The fact that the /oos command is limited to using it once every 10 seconds even though you can desync directly after using it just makes logout macros even more crucial. If I invest a shit ton of time to get a character to 90+ I prefer dying due to my own fuck up, not because the game anticipated me running into a room of 78+ Added Elemental Whippers because I opened a door.

Well this is just... BS!

No matter the rules, no matter the code - no matter everything - A LOT of people are CHEATERS, the want things for free - and will do everything in their power to get an advantage on others, no matter the cost. No matter HOW GGG change the code, they want more. No matter how many guys they scam, they will scam some more. No matter how many things is being implemented in the game, they will use third party hacks/cheats...

Don't blame the game for being a cheater. Just don't. Just say: "I'm a cheater, and I don't care".

Scaming isnt cheating. If youre not capable of checking how much an item is worth then you deserve to be punished for it. If anything its exploiting peoples stupidity but sure as hell not cheating.

Which is a silly copout. If logout and oos macros are such a necessary component of the game they shouldn't require a third party software.

Oos should just be bound to F1 by default. It's a simple solution. Everything else is a copout.

There need not be a third party program involved at all.

Once that is the case you can actually talk about coherent rules in regards to third party programs, but as it stands right now there will always be gray areas.
