What trading in PoE is like

trading in POE is fucking bullshit and BY FAR the most annoying trading system in a game - ever!!!
Shame on GGG and Chris for constructing such idiotic "trading system"!!!!! |

eh, i have had a pretty easy go of it, even from sellers with no buy out listed, though I mainly buy, occasionally sell, no shop.
The formula for me for easy trade is whisper whoever: 'x currency for y item'. that's it. they either say ok, some counter offer, dont answer or some variation and occasionally verbose answer of no. in my experiences there is no need to argue with them about how they are obligated to buy or sell, keep it short and to the point. Lots of buyers and sellers, lots of inventory. Hey...is this thing on?

I only look for b/o now but a while ago I had this conversation:

" You're obviously referring to Diablo 3 which shouldn't even be called Diablo. |
|
" You can get ignored for a low offer eventhough it's a free market ? I don't even .. |
|
" niche items that nobody wants but can't be found anywhere else; like a +3 fire wand with 30+crit because I run a CoC build that needs level 23 Purity of Fire to sustain Righteous fire :/ Last edited by H4xolotl#7857 on Sep 30, 2014, 10:40:41 PM

I do not see why people have a problem with sellers asking 'offer'? The problem is lack of experience of both buyers and sellers, which can lead to a whole lot of paranoia that either one of you is being taken advantage of.
Been playing since closed beta and only just getting use to trading a lot this league, no b/o's on anything, like I want to spend the time trying to work out the value on several tabs of stuff and then adding b/o's, but with experience it becomes easier knowing what is 1-2c and what is 20c-90c, maybe next league setting b/o's for everything will be easier. I ask offer simply hoping the buyer has an idea of value and will be fair with me. Quickly learnt it is best to just move on your stuff as well, especially the average stuff, even if it is below apparent value, because really most stuff sits around for weeks and jockeying for some perfect price is not worth it in the long run. What I do not get is the reactions from buyers sometimes, why is it so hard for people to compose themselves and just move on? Just this last few days had a heap of people asking me about a max fire dam%, max cast speed, tier1 life, mid tier mana and fire res two stone ring, best on xyz with this mod set, only two rings with the mod set and people can not believe I was asking 1ex for it, going on about it, some people offering 1-5c, some telling me they do not need the life. Today I sold it for the ex without discussion. Last edited by ZeroHate#6619 on Sep 30, 2014, 11:36:01 PM

" Yup, multiple times now I've seen threads on these forums that were just copypastas of reddit comments from the PoE subreddit. |
