What trading in PoE is like

That's why I never trade with anyone without a B/O on the item. If they actually do ask for offer anyway, then I just terminate the deal. I don't need this bullsh!t ..

Well then poe is a strange place. I have never met a real life seller who expected to get more than the price he/she advertises.
Edit: below 1 ex most time the seller acts okay and predictable. It occurs more in the 3-20ex range.

Dang.. I dislike trading a lot but it blows my mind some of the experiences people have.

Yesterday I whispered a guy for as word, asked if he had a price in mind. "Offer.." well tbh I was just mostly curious on a price. I said alright gl, about 5-10 mins later he whispers back a price and we made a trade shortly after.

Just have some patience and keep in mind it's another person you are whispering. If it's heading in a bad direction, ignore and move on.

Yep, that's how it goes every time unless i'm lowballing someone. Not sure how people are so bad at this whole trading thing.

Seeing 'a similar' item on xyz doesn't mean anything. Maybe you should look at what those item's are actually worth and selling for. This will be more effective than finding the lowest listed item from someone who hasn't been online in a month then adding a few chaos and telling yourself you are trying to overy-pay.

People don't ignore people with acceptable offers.

How exactly do you check what items are "worth" and what they sell for without investigating similar items on xyz?

Even when I end up lowballing because the item doesn't have a buyout and I can't fully tell it's price it just goes something like:

1 says: 5c?
2 says: nty
1 says: well then how much do you want?
2 says: 12c
1 says: ok

People probably just remember that one bad experience with an asshole and forget about the other 99 trades that went smoothly.

It is because you play on standard. People there are already doing something weird: playing a version of the game that devs dont bother to balance around.
