What trading in PoE is like
" Pretty much this. Sometimes I search without Online only to get a better idea of the prices of the online people. Also b/o is just that - there have been many times I've asked for a reduction in the price and they've accepted. My worst ever experience(s) with this method is when the seller is afk, and another instance when the guy wanted to keep the item. |

" Because it's not the buyers job to list prices for items in trade threads. This is how it should have gone, had the seller not been a total douche. 1)Hi, how much for XXX? 2)The c/o is 5ex, bin in 7. 1)Okay, I can toss ya 6.5. 2)Deal. 2a)If I don't get any buyout offers by the end of the hour I'll message you. 1a)Right'o! ----------------------- ----------------------- ----------------------- This is how sellers should handle their PMs. Hail Thor-show thy might, Let thunder roar and lightning strike! Hurl thy hammer into the fray, And let thine enemies know fear this day!

" The sellers in this market are though not dependant on your money to feel or do well. If the buyer is lazy, then in this market, he shouldn't expect the seller to not be lazy Your comment "it's not the buyers job to list prices for items in trade threads" has nothing to do with my question "Why didn't you ask for both the b/o and c/o?". I didn't ask "Why didn't you make an offer before the seller gave their view?" This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" I addressed your question, note seller ignores any amount of c/o b/o additional typing and still says "Offer?" Which is the point, seller can just be 100% upfront and say what they want, or they can start a circle jerk. to address the "laziness" factor in typing .... "offer?" vs "co 10ex" +1 character ... whos got time to for one extra keystroke these days !??!?! SPACE BaR arggg! |
|
" "offer?" requires no thought, "c/o 10 exa" requires the seller to check their notes about how much the c/o for that item actually is, which take a some seconds when you have lots of items in your shop. For the buyer, directly asking for b/o and c/o rather than just "price", requires no thought but does require some additional typing. In both cases, both persons are being lazy. If the buyer shows that he is lazy, the seller is less inclined to stop his own laziness. If the buyer shows that he isn't lazy, the seller is far more inclined to not be lazy. I love trading main reason I quit diabo and came here was trade but there are some major fucking annoyances beyond one you post.
Why cant buy or sell when author not online? AH was open 24/7. didnt matter if seller was sleeping. What up with asshole in standard who have FS threads but are like "im playing rampage now " ...then delete your fucking thread. Or my favorite. They are actually online yipeee but dont reply. Git R Dun!

" I actually had a problem once (no naming and shaming) where this guy had a B/O listed and instead said he would sell it for double price ... I terminated and said bye. I like many kinds of games 😊

" You had bad RNG! I had a similar experience once. I tried to haggle with someone, they said no. Later I offered to buy at his price, and he wanted to keep it after all! Though to be honest, I don't consider that a bad experience! |
