Diablo 3 is dead - Blizzard confirmed

Loving the whole "only sold 6 million copies must be dead"

Because saturating the market means the game is dead, right?

You don't know what "arcade" and "shoot-em-up" is.

I've been playing computer games since 1980 and an arcade shoot-em-up with limited rpg elements sums up d3 pretty well :)
IGN:
I dont use steam. I think the majority of PoE players dont play PoE on steam.

True that, plus two very different dev teams. When you check how much work GGG put into their game compared to Blizzard when Blizzard is easily the bigger studio, it shows you how dead D3 is compared to PoE. Most current example : GGG are realising a so-called "mini-expansion" (when it's clearly more than that) only 4 months after the previous one and they are still regularly updating their game at the same time, when D3 is already 6 weeks into PTR for a still-to-come BS update that will serve the same old shit wraped in a different package. Alive vs. Dead.

Yea I have to admit that is a big big negative point about blizzard. It takes them months over months just for fixing little bugs or realising patches which are mostly even not the seize of an POE patch which comes out every week. I don't understand why it takes soo much time for a multi-million dollar company like blizzard. It is a big motivation killer for the game.

I can just speak for me, patching and fixing a game regularly gives me the feeling that the developpers care about their clients and their product. Thats a feeling that I have not for Diablo 3.
I can just congratulate GGG for doing this :)

Can you explain what you believe "arcade" to be and why you think D3 has that element while PoE doesn't :P?

As for shoot-em-up: d3 has several melee classes which naturally play different from projectile-based gameplay seen in ranged classes and shoot-em-ups.

Yes, dodging enemy skill shots are important in both Shoot-em-ups, Action RPGs, beat'em ups, adventure games etc.

Edit: Just because the grass it wet it doesn't mean that rain made it wet.

Ya just too bad they can't fix the more important things like desync, lousy non-rewarding drop system. Desync is horrible and I don't experience that in any other similar game except POE. Desync has been a problem with this game since day 1. Couple that with robbing a player constantly with experience penalties and throwing out 1 good drop every 6 hours. Ridiculous!

People can slam D3 all they want but the netcode is a million times better than this game and the game also doesn't constantly rape you of experience and good drops. Neither does TorchLight II. I've also never come across Aholes in Diablo who rip you off in trades taking advantage of new or inexperienced players. Maybe I'm just lucky. I know I got ripped off by people in this game. Total Aholes. Also, how about the server browser where everyone creates servers to sell their items making it hard to find a legit server or market your own server? It's been mentioned on the forums a lot of times, where is the fix for that? Get with the program devs, give another server browser for sellers.. No.. just like the multitude of duplicate gems you have that you can't combine, it's short sighted.

I love POE (kinda). Been playing it since the very start so don't get me wrong but this game is anything but perfect and the developers are slow to fix the REAL stuff. And I don't think downloading patches every week is very good either. I rather a patch comes out that fixes lots of things not 50 million patches that fix this and that.
poe and d3 are equally bad, just in opposite ways

wonder why lol

P.D. Arcade always will be better than economy simulator.

P.P.D. An arpg withouth rewards, itemization and crafting? LOL

Recent Q2 2014 earnings call confirmed what the PoE fans have been saying for almost 2 years.

"There have been over 20 million copies of Diablo III sold, counting both the base game and Reaper of Souls."

"Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, top-selling PC game of 2014, YTD"

Its only an increase of +6 Million copies since the last Quarter.

Diablo 3 is oficially dead. No-one buys copies anymore let alone play the game.

The only ones playing D3 are bots to farm gold and items to sell on 3th party websites even now that items are account-bound.

On the other hand the magnificence of PoE has no boundaries. According to SteamCharts a whooping average of 4k players play the game concurrently on a daily basis.
And on a economy driven game which is also free-to-play ..such things as bot accounts do not exist. All the PoE players that are counted on the charts are genuine unique players.

A huge overcomplicated passive tree is what determines the sucess of an ARPG experience.

PoE is the best game ever.

Mmh, just some words which say nothing.

Just see it this way: There are wolves and there are sheeps - the sheeps are the majority.
