A factor of inflation and why the economy is NOT WORKING
It sounds like to me some people are using and building items like this as a real money investment tool to build at a low price and sell off for real money somehow.
The guy is just trying his luck. You can make any boots you want for a lot less than 370 ex. Calm down.
Dude ... I don't want to post the guy's shop cause it's prohibed, but this guy has 10 mirrors for sale. His luck my ass.
What are you trying to say with calm down ? You must be one of them.
When I say he's trying his luck, I mean he's trying to sell an item that you can easily make for under a hundred ex for more than three times that amount. And if anyone is actually paying him anything like that amount for stuff like boots then ya damn right he's got mirror stacks, basic math bro.
I'm so sick of people screaming rmt everytime they see someone with a serious amount of in game wealth. I took a break from the game and came back to find half the shit in my stash had become legacy, made hundreds of exalts by selling off items that weren't even considered GG when I got them. There are lots of other people who have accumulated wealth in similar ways, or just through trading, or doing shit like the guy you're talking about is doing.
You have no freaking idea how he made his wealth, so stop crying about it.
Edit: as for your "you must be one of them" bullshit, how about you go through my post history, find the thread where I sold off all my old legacy shit in sc for hc currency, then come back and make an appropriate apology. [Removed by Support]
MontaMunch tells the truth; I myself have crafted various mirror-worthy items and made a ton of profit from my investments. I have also invested in legacy items since the time they made the +2 Silverbranch Bow Legacy; I had a gut feeling about other items going legacy way before they became legacy, and my gut was 100% right. I have made over 1000% profit on various investments (most of the items, however, didn't make as much profit, but on average I made double or triple profits). All of this profit has enabled me to invest into crafting rare items that I in turn offer up for mirror services. I have been here since the beginning of OB, and I have worked hard for what I have, so people need to stop making hasty generalizations about people just because they are rich. Here is one of my more recent crafting projects as an example:
I spent LESS THAN 90 exalts crafting these gloves, and I have made back more than what I spent by making a mirror service for them. Yes, the gloves are only 5/6 top tier rolls; however, when I made them at the time, I was the FIRST PERSON on standard to make legacy IIQ gloves this high, and for that reason I was the ONLY PERSON who people could go to for mirroring gloves like these. I actually still have a few others interested in mirroring them because they still stand ranked #1 for anyone who wants IIQ/IIR gloves that have Fire + Cold resist mods. There's another pair that has a higher es roll (not by much); however, they have Light + Cold Resists. In summation: It's not as hard to craft things as people think (I would know, I've crafted MANY items myself), and MontsaMunch speaks the truth when he says it's possible to have crafted those boots for less than 100 exalts.

well crafting gloves is not like crafting a wand or a dagger...
Absolutely. The previous poster profited on gloves and let me tell you a fact ->
axn still is making a loss on Loath Bane even though it's extremely popular and the mirror fee is extremely high.
But I suspect it was with respect to the other guy who was complaining about some armour boots, mid-tier boots are easily craftable if you have the knowledge.

A wise man once said, "A smart person does what they can; a genius does what he must." I am nowhere near being a neophyte when it comes to the crafting system for PoE; however, I have made attempts in the past to help the general public of PoE. What made me lose "love" for making myself a fool to be used, like how Iago from William Shakespeare's Othello would say to Roderigo, "Thus do I ever make my fool my purse[...]", was when my own guild officers and a REAL LIFE friend back-stabbed me and stole everything that was in our guild bank. Check my guild, there are only two of us that are members (the other member is my fiance, and thankfully she's the only person who hasn't screwed me over in my life). Anyways... yes, you heard right... my real life friend and some guild officers who came over to this game from other previous games actually robbed the guild bank. 90% of what was in the guild was from my own wealth (wealth that I earned on my own).
I knew my friend for over seven years, and some of the officers I had known from other games for over five years. My guild bank was set up to only allow officers to take items out. Officers were allowed to get items that new recruits would need, and they would also create "guild map runs" by taking out maps ranging from low level all the way up to lvl 78 maps. They had everything they needed in there to craft the maps: alts, augs, chaos, regals, scours, etc... I did my part; I showed "love" to my real life friend, and long time online gaming pals, and even to new faces who wanted to be part of our family... this is how my "love" was repayed.
Do you think I will be in the mood to help out a random stranger after I was betrayed in such a way? I have been shat on by many people by this community despite trying to be more than helpful. Actually, "helpful" is a misnomer. What I tried to do is beyond any simple, cheap/petty word. In some situations words mean nothing, and actions speak louder than words.
Note: I merely wanted to back up Monstamunch's claims.

Yes, I crafting a dagger is much more difficult than gloves for sure. Boots, however, are not that bad, and from my experience when it comes to boots vs gloves, it depends on what mods you want to roll that dictates which will be more difficult than the other. I actually crafted two boots for less than what was put into the gloves; however, I could have also had RNG smile upon me during that endeavor.
Note: I have mad respect for Legit players who craft items like Loath Bane. I also don't go around making accusations about players just because they have wealth. I have to admit, I was once daunted and overwhelmed with the crafting system, but I took the time to research and conduct my own tests through trial and error to ascertain a greater understanding of what this so-called "crafting deal" entails.

Please refrain from such comments. You have been reported.
Note: You represent the quintessential example of why individuals such as myself refuse to share our wisdom with the general public. You only exacerbate things by conducting yourself in such a manner. This verbal joust ends with thine own tongue as the spear to thine own heart of reason; there is no method in your sanity, my friend.

I din't say anything wrong. You don't want to share with your community. I just translated that to the story you explained about how all your friends betrayed you.
