thoughts on my item
" would you mind giving an example where you wanted it to be used? if it's for the ice spear burn build then you will face the proliferation problem. wouldnt it be possible to make the explosion spread the ignite to the next target?
" Its intended use would be to remove corpses and to convert cold to fire without having to use a slot for the conversion gem or, necessarily, even picking AoF. It isn't *for* ice-spear or anything else. And, as previously stated, EP wasn't in existence when the item was thought up. I think it's a nice design witt if that's a consolation.
Ele prolif is pretty OP, so this gives the user an interesting choice, do i want to prolif my burns and sacrifice 2 gem slots (cold to fire + prolif) or do i work around it utilizing AOE based cold spells and don't depend on the prolif to do AOE damage. It also provides a +1 gem slot for end-game usability. Very cool sir, like you say, not designed to be OP but rather interesting and good applications. How about this version?
Pyre: level 11 20%-30% to fire resistance (Ruby Ring) ----------------------- 10%-20% increased cold damage 20%-30% increased burning damage 100% of cold damage converted to fire damage 10% increased light radius Enemies killed while ignited explode dealing Fire Damage ----------------------- The ring felt like it's meant to be offensively oriented so I got rid of the cold resistance. I added a bit of increased cold damage to it which encourages the player to use cold abilities (which are then converted to fire) and changed the explode to the more traditional corpse exploding already in the game. Oh and I lowered the burning damage slightly to compensate for the increased cold damage. Now, I feel like this would be a good solid piece of equipment that I could see people using - powerful enough to be worth considering but with some drawbacks (lacks defenses & many builds don't want to destroy corpses) to make it not an automatic inclusion. I think it'd be nice if it converted 100% of ALL Damage to Fire, not just Cold.
I know you came up with the idea when there was few Fire Skills, but now it's the opposite... Go figure. :P But as people have mentioned, there are ways to convert to Fire, via Cold2Fire, Avatar of Fire, etc, but not really ways to convert Lightning or Chaos Damage to Fire.. So that could be interesting.. ^.^ PS. An idea I had, what about: "Enemies killed by Fire Damage Shatter" A play on the Cold<->Fire concept, and gets rid of corpses while not making them deal explosion damage. ~.^ EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home *Burnt out and waiting for either PoE1 League or new PoE2 Classes.* Last edited by Sheriff_K#3938 on Jun 27, 2014, 2:13:42 PM

One use I can think of is with freeze pulse. You can essentially combine it with three dragons so all your freeze pulse hits will triple shock(with static blows, crit or added lightning shock %).
It sounds great in theory but the ring really needs 1 more stat. Maybe mana regen? Last edited by kasub#2910 on Jun 27, 2014, 2:48:55 PM

how about:
modifiers to light radius apply as extra fire damage
stats are finalized unfortunately. Just wanted to get a sense of what players thought. Appreciate the feedback.
Hope some people can get a use out of it :) "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

I think it's a good unique and can be useful.
For example, someone in this section was theorycrafting a burning discharge build with frenzy charges, and this ring could replace the three dragons and be more effective. And a crit FP build who shock stacks with this ring and the three dragons could actually be interesting, as someone pointed out. Is it going to be in the game with 1.1.5? I'm a bit surprised those are the final stats, seems very strong. I'd have guessed it would need to be much higher level or have lower resists.
