While selling two Mjolner's on Ambush today, I had the following experience:

We are just going to call him Bob since I don't want to name/shame.

Bob approaches. We negotiate to price X on Mjolner 1

Goes over smooth. I reveal to him that I have a second Mjolner for sale, but slightly better rolled. Bob wants that Mjolner too.

He complains to me that he does not have enough exalts for the second one. He then messages me and says "brb 5min" and then "bought with money."

After buying the second Mjolner, he offered to buy my exalts (the ones he traded to me) off of me for USD.

I tried to report him, but ironically, there is no "RMT" option. It's just Spam, Harassment, Hate Speech, and some other dumb category. I put "Harassment"

It will be interesting to see if he ever gets banned. I sincerely doubt it.

Where's the contradiction? If you don't invest time you won't get a high ticket item unless you're very lucky. If you invest a lot of time, you will eventually get one regardless of your luck.

Also, is "eventually" in any way related to how I play, what I do, and what kind of risks I take? Do I have ANY control at all on "eventually"? "Eventually" can happen in the next 5 minutes, or after 2000 more hours, and there's not one damn thing I can do about it.
Hell, even the risks I can take are dominated by mister fucking "eventually" in this game.

Eventually means after a certain amount of hours you will have enough currency to get the item you want. And yes, it's very related to how you play and what you do, that's why some people have nothing even though they play for years and others have top notch items after a couple of weeks. Not sure how much risk there is at farming Dominus, guess it depends on how much you push it and if you play on hardcore?

yeah, because i totally put 2 + 2 together instantly, BEFORE he asked to buy my exalts with USD.

the "money" comment was weird to me, but it didn't really strike home until he asked for a buyback basically.

so now what, you want me to delete my currency? or get banned?

if anybody who ever touched an RMT'd exalt got banned, probably 99% of the players would be banned.

There are some of us who played the living shit out of the game and never even got a Lionseye Glare let alone something like a Voltaxic, Shavs, etc.


When someone is able to get something like Shavs/500 ES Shield/Bino's Kitchen Knife/etc. in under a month in a temporary league, something is fishy as fuck. RMT is rampant as hell, and anyone who says otherwise is living in a dream world.
