With all the - to aura effect and mana reservation and + to stupid aura radius, me thinks this build might be going the way of the dodo, we will just have to find another perfect build

Im coming back after a year hiatus so I may be completely off the mark but plugging this into the offline calc im looking at the new build having:

112.6% increased evasion (down from OG 170.6%)
190% increased max energy shield (down from OG 204%)

Seems like a large defensive loss coupled with the missing ele. Am I missing something here?

Not sure where you're looking at, but the tree I linked has 250% inc. energy shield. Just look at the sidebar on the left.

There is less evasion, yes, but that's because the evasion nodes changed, plus, we didn't take Void Barrier which is too far away now. It's between Shadow and Ranger, but requires 2 points just to get there, which is something this build cannot sacrifice.

It would perhaps be reasonable to not go for the aura nodes at unwavering stance and just skip both and use eye of chayula. That way, you get some extra points, but even then, it's better to spend them on more ES nodes at the witch area IMO which gives you a total of 288% inc. ES, an increase of 84% compared to the old build.

That's the reason why a lot of people are saying the new leagues will be the age of CI again. It's really easy to get a lot of ES.

How many auras do you think you can run without Soul Taker and new mana reserved talents?
We can do 4 aura, Hatred, Discipline, Grace and one of the purity.

For atziri we can still remove Grace and do three purity, we don't need the cold one.

Now the problem is this we can run without grace and keep hatred and discipline but with lower armor, i don't think will go over 5-6k armor not sure.

at this point i wouldn't go soultaker but for the highest 1h-weapon Physical Dps we can.

For the aura calculation

To consider we might want to use the new herald for more damage but not sure until the patch, i would personally run hatred, discipline, grace and purity of fire and ready to switch to purity of lighting when needed.

The real problem would be we're going to be more short on resistant now that we can't run the three Purity always.

Also without elemental adaptation.
He did Atziri at lvl 95+ risking his life.
I don't know if it will be very viable with the new patch.
If you run 3 60% auras and 1 40% the mana will be a problem until you can take the mana reserved talent near the marauder and it will happens in end game.

I'm trying to do a similar build with claw and viper strike :D
without a soul taker should i link blood magic or does an unleveled dual strike work with mana?

Running with 3 auras mana wouldn't be a problem. Get mana leech in some piece of gear n GG!!
