I'm Unhappy I Put As Much Money As I Did In This Game

Give everybody orbs and a bad crafting/gambling system and they will hoard them.

Give everybody orbs and a good crafting system and they will use them.

GGG is on the right track with vendor recipes, they could be made eventually into a proper crafting system.

There is no crafting in Path of Exile, it is gambling.
Path of Exile will never have a crafting system imho because there's not meant to be a real one.
It's about loots, and about the risk that one wants to take with orbs.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Thanks for your feedback in this thread. You guys know you can mail me at chris@grindinggear.com with your feedback at any time, right?

I did and all I received in return is a message telling me not to reply and if I have further ideas/questions to send to the support staff. Also it mentions something about a 5usd pack and if supporter pack supposed to get physical goods, WTF?!?! Are ya'll sending me a shirt?

All that I suggested: 1: Fix the wording on olmec and tiki totem so it clearly states '' your support spell totem/ranged totem...'' so people don't get mad and have to get reimbursed.
2: Make recipes and orbs that promote actual crafting as a another choice instead of trading. Valid suggestions.

CHRIS DON'T POST THIS ADDRESS IF YOUR NOT READY FOR ACTUAL SUGGESTIONS ON IMPROVING THIS GAME.

cheers

I sent Chris an E-mail only once and he responded in a reasonable manner within FOUR minutes. It was a genuine concern and I included two suggestions to resolve the issue. Whether the issue will be resolved or not, I do not know, but he gets full credit for promptly responding and at least seeming to care about what I was saying.
Yeah if GGG is EVER going to respond with a vision on feedback they get it would be something like "Hey guys, refrain from blabla"
I don't regret any the optional support purchases I've made to GGG.

I believe deeply in this kind of development model. I want other underfunded and independent game developers to follow in GGG's footsteps and know that there WILL be people willing to support their vision financially.

GGG's ongoing success with PoE may very well lead to other high quality free to play games in the future!

I feel the same feeling OP described, the game has great potential, many good aspects, but progression is so slow, and if u are unlucky u may have no progression at all. The new drop rates for midtier uniques made things actually better, but the really good uniques are still too rare, i guess, u should b able to drop something great at least every 100 hours of playing. But the worst part is map progression, maps drop rates are so low for hight level maps, its not fun, its just frustrating, spending 50 x 73 maps to get 15 x 74 maps. The difficult in progression must be in the content, with more complexes mechanics, and not a simple gear check, progression beeing hard just bcz the maps never drops are just boring, having slow progression cze u need to improve gear and skills is ok, but beeing stucked bcz of rng is a lame

This would be the best outcome we could hope for, too many games limit content via real money.

It's a real shame as there is a lot of fun to be had, but often it's held back by either a technical level (desync) or a mechanic level (It'll one shot you, because balance is poor). It just gets frustrating and tiresome, I love the concepts this game has, but when it's implemented poorly, it's wasted potential. I know balance is difficult, but not having a good balance wastes any potential there could be for the content available.

With regards to the "most time to play" comment - Charan and I have talked about this personally and I wanted to mention it in this thread. We want to make sure there are content and items for people who play far more than the average player. Enemies like Atziri (and potentially other undocumented harder versions of her) require a whole lot of effort that will probably be out of reach for a portion of our playerbase. Those players can still find the content both enjoyable to watch on Twitch/YouTube and aspirational (inspiring them to build better and better characters to hopefully take it on themselves). We tried to make sure that there was lots of content in SotV that was available to all players, and based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the patch, I personally feel we succeeded.

Huh ... you really lost a returning customer here Chris.
You are deliberately stating that part of your product (namely the one with the best chance for better rewards) also helped developing with my money is not meant for the vast majority of the customers (probably including me) ?!?!
And i should be happy i can watch it on twitch/youtube ?!?!
Are you F#@*ing kidding me ???

I only wish i knew this before i forked my 120 bucks ...

Aaaah, the rage of the people.
So smoothing to see.

I can feel you, brother.
Luckily they announced that the next expansion
will aim at the majority low-to-mid-ranged players.

Yeah, how dare you make a part of this game that is actually a challenge that people will actually have to work towards?
