I'm Unhappy I Put As Much Money As I Did In This Game
the hole game is about farming alts and chaos, nothing else even with lucky drops no chance to get endgame gear to be able to lvl to 100. the only chance is to drop a mirror or have some legacy stuff.
the other way to play is to create every couple gameplay hours a new char bring it to near lvl 90 and start with onother one. after this done, the game is boring. i know the hole rpg thing is about farming but the way its going is deciding about the quality of a game. the new content is my oppinion at this point really weak. " Anyone who doesn't understand that you have to get past failure to succeed will never succeed. Surviving is not success. Achieving a high level without dying is not success. What is success? It is something many people never figure out even though they spend a lifetime pursuing it. I'll give you a hint. If you think anyone or anything is preventing YOU from being successful, than you are not on the road to success. "The only legitimate use of a computer is to play games." - Eugene Jarvis

I love the new mini-expansion. it definitely has it's issues, especially all the insta-one-shotting going on in invasion. Still, they've added so much content it takes a bit of time to adjust it, and meanwhile it's just the new meta so plan accordingly. Could always do ambush for a while.
a few random observations from someone who's gone over the 800h mark. -insta-one-shoot by far the biggest issue, I'm talking devour spawning under you, that crazy frost dude with 20 spells etc, I think you've already adjusted some of the others. -risk vs reward seems a bit out of wack for how dangerous both corrupted areas and invasion bosses are. probably done 80h's of SoTv and think I went into a total of 4 of those corrupted areas. Then again, if there's a very real chance of a death there is no reward good enough so might just be intended to do em once we're a bit more geared up. -some vaal orbs has such game breaking stats that they probably need a bigger chance to fuck up the item. then again it's fun and just a 4 month league so whatever -considering how hard invasion has been I guess it's nice in a way that a non-linked searing bond with 0 skillpoints can clear merciless but it's pretty extreme imho. the new balancing guy should probably not increased damage of stuff by 300% at a time ;p -great job on quivers and on the uniques and on vaal gems and honestly overall great job. | |
Man. I fucking love this game so much. I really do.
But this end game is the most RIDICULOUS SHIT EVER STILL. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Every other aspect of the game seems PERFECTLY FINE for getting gear! You dedicate time to the game, you get rewarded. But then you get to the end game and you meet the map system. Holy Fucking Shit I HATE the map system with a passion. I hate it so much. Honestly, it makes me want to punch a wall I hate it so much. The fact that I can't get past this fucking level 70 map barrier a SECOND TIME (just like in anarchy) is the most rage inducing thing in the whole universe. I have already considered quitting until the next 4-month league and giving away all my shit multiple times already. And I probably will at this rate. It is so stupid to be doing a 72 map that you chisel'd, poured 5 chaos into for a 100% IIQ map with shit like pack size or magic monsters, and then you get absolutely shit on with 0 map drops. No. That's a lie. It's FINE for this to happen often for the higher maps. Actually, it's GOOD if this happens often. It's balanced. But it happens almost ALWAYS! It's just NOT FAIR! I'm honestly not surprised the top players in invasion suicides. I'm really not. Playing the end game map system is purely masochistic. Far more than anything else in the game. And I mean this from a purely psychological perspective. No other system in the game hypes you up for success as much as rolling an 'amazing map'. And no other system in the game pisses over you as much as doing that 'amazing map' and getting zilch. And cartogropher boxes are nonexistent for me. Haven't found one after 5 hours of mapping. Don't know what to say. I can't say I 'clear slow' considering I'm using 6l flameblast 1-shotting entire screens of mobs and bosses. I'm going fast, but these damn things don't spawn. And every one I did in the past has had crappy map drops (+4 chest level = 2 66 maps, +8 drops = 8 66 maps. HA. HA. HA). RNG? JEFIOWAJFOIEWAJFOIEJWA. " 1. Nobody is saying they aren't hardworking or efficient. 2. Nobody is asking for a perfect game. 3. It's not that we (some of those posting here, as you eloquently stated, the QQ'ers) do not like RNG - all ARPG's are based off of RNG - it is the *amount of RNG* in the game. 4. Speaking for myself: I don't like trading because it isn't fun. I play games to have fun and I work to work. Nobody is bashing GGG. Many of us have donated over a thousand dollars to them, and we are simply providing feedback that we do not enjoy *some* of the design choices GGG has made. As paying consumers, it is perfectly within our right to provide feedback to any company we have given money to. Also, the only difference between D3 and PoE is that it takes you several hundred hours more to do the same thing in PoE then it does in D3. In PoE you navigate the web to find ideal builds based around skills (D3 just gives you the skills) you then choose from a group of mod gems (D3 provides a more limited variety of the same thing, runes) you then farm for gear and unique/legendary items which synergize well with particular skills enabling unique builds (exactly like PoE). The paragon system in D3 gives you small % based changes to core stats, just like the 'road nodes' do in PoE. In D3 I craft items and get random stats, in PoE I find items and roll random stats. People really need to stop whining about getting one shot in hardcore, go play some ambush while you wait for balancing..
And focus on the real issues, the issues that has been a plague on POE since the get go, and GGG since to refuse to fix.. Desync, i am sorry GGG but this is alpha omega, you cannot make a game where you continuosly nerf survivability because "you want us to avoid dmg rather than tank it" and not fix Desync. I know when you test stuff on your zero desyncing, zero lag test servers things might seem nice and all, but on the real servers it is downright impossible to dodge half the abilities. Combined with the new shoddy targetting bugs that basic makes your character throw totems, traps wherever it pleases, really takes away from emersion and actual control of your Character. Either you make this game easy, or you fix desync, it is the only 2 choices you have. It is'nt right that such a huge percentage of HC deaths is due to Desync, it is insane. I mean half of all the streamers deaths are desync related, that ofcourse is my estimate but still.. Pohx was talking about only ever dying 3 times on HC 1 due to desync, 1 due to BSOD and for the first time, he actually died because he made a mistake. There has been people on reddit and the like who knows alot about game engine design and game design in general who has made their input on the subject, and put it out there , that this amount of desyncing is avoidable if the will was there. Either you allow us to play in small local hosted instances, or you fix the system you have now, or you start reverting some of the survivability nerfs we have been seeing.. The latest HP nerf is horrible. |

As people reaches endgame, they realize how bad the economy design of the game is, and become extremely disappointed. Colour me surprised... not.
Those who actually play the game a bit (given how easy is to reach endgame), have come to realization of what direction the game took after CB. What GGG has to discover yet thought, is how hard is to compete in the "grind MMO" dying market, coming soon to a forum near you. They should have stayed with ARPG w/ a bit of 'online game', and not the other way around. PoE shines because it's ARPG elements, but instead staff and direction have decided RNG is what drives the game. We will see how this all plays out. |
