Sean's DW Blood Tanky DPS

I would invest in two extra Endurance Charges. You are three points away from having two (and have one point you can get back at the start of Duelist tree (one point into speed on the right and then you went left side?).

Didn't even think about endurance charges! I am not using that mechanic at all (actually never tried to). Do you use just enduring cry? Or is there any other way to generate them? Actually, Ill read up on it on forums, guess its gonna be somewhere already. The one point to attack speed was just because its 6%. Seemed like good investment. Might as well remove as you say.

You could take of Armor Master for now as well as +30 to Agility at the start of the tree on the right side. This gives you 3 extra points that you need for your Endurance Charges.

Idd, I took Armor Master long time ago. No need for it as I have high movement speed anyway. And Agility - thats a sad story. Got quite nice armor piece (900 eva, 50 life, 3l+2l) and I need the dex for it. No luck on gear so far..

I am level 55 and went bit differently in my build completing right side first and now on my way to Maruder side. I have no issues with hard hitting mobs or range bow mobs. Only problems I have is those damn caster :) but then i think we just have to live thru it, and move on to the next map.
For Chill/Freeze i have one Health Flask with dispel to those and if i need to get out, i just use it and then Whiriling Blade out to get life back.

I can handle the hard hitting mobs with problems, but I can. The chilling (and freezing) is driving me crazy. I ofc have "dispel frozen and chilled", but when there are like 20 skeleton mages with 1-2 necros, I am screwed.

Thanks, going to test endurance charges out.

Higher resists or higher health will help w/ not getting chilled. Its duration is affected tied to the damage you are dealt relative to your max HP pool. If the hit does less than ~2.2% of your max health, then you won't get a chill effect at all.

From the mechanics thread:
"
The duration of the chilled, frozen, and shocked statuses is related to the amount of cold/lightning damage dealt:
Shocked: 276ms per 1% max life dealt as lightning
Chilled: 138ms per 1% max life dealt as cold
Frozen: 100ms per 1% max life dealt as cold

All three are capped at considering 1/3 of max life - if you deal more than 1/3 max life as that element, the status ailment occurs as though you did exactly 1/3.

The maximum unmodified durations are therefore:
Shock: 9.2 seconds
Chill: 4.6 seconds
Freeze: 3.33 seconds

If the duration would be less that 300ms, it's ignored entirely (the effect is not applied).
For characters using Chaos Inoculation, these durations are calculated based on what the character's maximum life would be if they did not have Chaos Inoculation.

Spoiler
I've made it to level 51 following this build. I'm at beginning of Act3 cruel. How does the build stack up against all the chaos damage in Act3? Also any recommendations on Axes? I've got 2 level 51 ceremonial axes and my base DPS is only 230. The attack rate seems like it would be too slow to take advantage of the life on hit gems... Thinking it might be better to use the level 48 chest splitter that have 1.4 attack rate. Or perhaps 1h swords since I've just picked up a lot of the dexterity nodes.
Hello!

So I've looked at your build and I thought to myself, "What if I wanted to convert this to a sword and board build?" So I did! Please tell me what you think of the build. Me, being the non-creative sod that I am, never thought to go by the marauder roots and I think it has allowed me to come up with this build. Admittedly, I didn't take any shield nodes, but I don't feel the cost/return ratio is high enough to justify spending the points there.

so... yay? nay?

Also I chose to not take BM as I find that aura's reserving hp a scary though xD.

Before I get started on this build I'd like someone else's opinion.

-Thank you.

what's killing you ?

You seems to lack in resists. One of your weapons seems poor (one with no %Physical Damage increase). Do you use Blood Rage ? I would not use it unless you have high chaos resists as this will kill you more often then you think. Even if your Life Regen is same as damage you are taking from it you are using your regent to heal you (and keep alive). Just use Frenzy gem which is much better anyway as it gives you not only attack speed but buff to your physical damage and this in turn increase amount of health leeched thru LL.

Endurance Charges are a must for later gameplay so get Endurace Cry and start using it.

without know what is killing you most often it is hard to tell how you can improve :)

In that order
+Health
+Resists (on jewelery a must. get nice set of each elemental resistance)
+Strenght
+Armor/evasion bonuses

Blood rage will actually drain more than 4% because you will mostly likely have negative chaos resistance resulting in more health being drained by it
+1 on this

I was thinking if i go Iron Reflexes, would not be better going for Leather and Steel nodes instead of Steel Skin ones?

- A 3 point Steel Skin node will give you 52% increased Armour
- A 3 point Leather and Steel node will give you 40% increased Armour and 40% increased Evasion.

Assuming you got hybrid items, with:
- 2000 Armour
- 2000 Evasion

W/ ARMOUR * Steel Skin + Iron Reflexes
TOTAL ARMOUR = (2000*1.52)+ 2000 = 5040

W/ (ARMOUR / EVASION * Leather and Steel) + Iron Reflexes
TOTAL ARMOUR = (2000*1.40)+ (2000*1.40) = 5600

I'm wrong?

The Steel Skin and Leather and Steel bonuses act before or after the Iron Reflexes effect?
