Are mods being overly strict now?

My only suggestion is to remove the General button from the forum droptab. It would encourage people to find the right thread area for their posts.
2 feedbacks:

1) Someone should not be allowed to abuse the "report" to @SUPPORT too often.
I realised it can become bad.

2) Do you know Minority report? For ultimate moderation efficiency you should moderate saved drafts of comments not posted yet!
:D

ps: i am serious about "1)"

Remove the drop down for general as others have said. Also, if everyone really wants a place to foam at the mouth. Add a 'Flame' forum where anything goes. That is something I've seen other forums do sometimes. One section is just a total wasteland of no moderation. Everyone who wants to be a huge prick can just go there and have fun.

We are looking at changing the drop down menu soon. It will likely still include General Discussion but will also include other relevant indexes as well. I'm unable to speculate as to when this may be implemented but I agree that it would be helpful.

I can see where you might be coming from with this but it does somewhat imply that we act on issues simply because they were reported, but that is not the case. We do receive a lot of reports but we only act on issues that we feel have infringed on our Forum Guidelines or Terms of Use in some way. In this sense, it is not really possible to abuse the report options available.

Where is it, where is it?!?!?!!

:))

I thought before to add more to the dropdown menu but i see now it would indeed be much better to simple remove it so that people learn to use it naturally.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.
Here is an example of foolish moderation if i have ever seen it.

PoE Currency Exchange Central. This thread was moved to gameplay help, which will eliminate the whole project due to lack of attention. If your intention was to kill it, then consider the action right on.

Almost as good as them moving my 100% free maps give away that gave out nearly 200 maps into item showcase where it could die.

After Yeran did that I completely stopped trying to help the community. [Removed by Admin]

I generally am quite satisfied with moderation on these forums except sometimes it's frustrating when they move my thread. In the end i guess it's fair enough they usually end up where they belong.

Feedback Nr1: no more deleting, no more moving threads. No need for moderation. Allow people to vent. Censorship solves absolutely nothing.
You're welcome.

Under-moderation also keeps people away from the forums. There's a segment of the population that plays this game for fun. Having an abundance of negativity and vitriol, especially when it revolves around the same unconsolidated topics (SFL, desync, etc...) turns people off just as much as over-moderation does.
OMG i almost forgot. I have actually a feedback i wanted to give, i first thought i would make a thread about it, send an email then i forgot then i moved on and now i am remembering it.

About probation system:
The way you do it is: The more someone got probated the longer probations will be, even if his misdeed is thin. Why don't we(yeah i am part of poe/GGG) adjust punishements to different players behaviour? Why don't you start doing it?
Very severe toxicity should be punished appropriately even if it is a "first time" + " no probation in the past "

Let me show you what League of legends guys do:

let's look at lol social control :

Spoiler

Random negative toxic behaviour can result on a warning

But very severe toxicity including words like : "murder" is handled this way :

__

Your system is making someone having most severe punishement even for something he should have just been warned for, because he had probation in the past..
While someone 'clean'(no probation in the past) can say the most toxic thing ever and have like 1 day probation.

What do you say? That's my feedback.
