As I mentioned before having to use alt-tab to do anything in a modern computer game is a joke.
You can't sell without using 3rd party software so most people won't

As I've stated, and I will repeat, it's a choice of each individual.

If you choose not to, you have no right to complain, especially about the loot.

It's actually a choice of GGG, if you have to recompile the POE executable and had trading code to and that code was on the internet would that be the choice of the individual?.

It's basically impossible to trade within POE so you have to do it using outside resources

And I'm ok with that. It heavily incentivizes people to play the game and just dump loot in a shop instead of flipping 24/7.

I agree. Thank you for making the case for a SFL with tweaked orbs. Game is highly unsatisfying as is unless you buy your way to the finish line.

What is the finish line?

Is it level 100 with all gear being mirror worthy?

You sir, are spreading bullshit all over the place.

There are plenty of people who played self found and have beaten Dominus in Merciless difficulty, did it took 3 days? No.

Buying is not necessary for you to finish game quests.

You don't have to do anything.
I'm a relative newb to the higher levels of play in the game, just recently got a Nemesis character in Merciless and I'm pretty happy with how things are. I mostly play solo and self-found, but when I've had to trade it's been a pleasant and non-time consuming experience. Knowing nothing about pricing, I'm pretty sure I got ripped off into paying more in the beginning and I may not have gotten as much out an item as I should have, but I'm LEARNING. That's what I love about POE in general - the game doesn't hand you stuff on a silver platter.

Online games these days are so automated and antisocial - group finders, auction houses, bind on pickup loot, etc etc. It makes you wonder why you're playing an ONLINE game at all. In PoE you actually have to put some effort into something: if you don't want to spend hours farming, then you have to take the time to find an item in the trade channels/forums. As it should be - you have to put in time to get something out of the game, as it was with older titles. You don't see these kinds of systems in games nowadays.

It's all about instant gratification and "streamlining". So what, alt-tabbing out of the game is considered as too much effort? Seriously? You don't want to trade with other players? Why are you playing an online game then? (and this is coming from a guy who plays solo all the time)

I'm happy that PoE is the way it is and it's because of niche games like it that there's still hope for the game industry in general. Games where your loot and accomplishments actually mean something, because you can't get everything after a week of play. For the life of me, I can't see how that's wrong.

I have no problems putting time in game, putting time out of game is a very different matter

Moreover, what's satisfying about buying your way to that ominous finish line?

Once you're there there's nothing left for you to do but farm over and over to recoup the cost that got you there. Wohoo.

Me, I don't need to have top of the line gear but it would be nice to find an upgrade for self-use once in a while. For the past 10-20 levels or so my main hasn't found a single item that would have been an upgrade for him. Sure, alts are happy about the odd leveling piece from Piety, but farming just to sell/trade in order to one day buy a good item is not my idea of fun gameplay.

Because of the ilvl and socket requirements, having no low lvl uniques in high lvl areas is not a good idea. Items like Searing Touch, just to name one, you need to drop them in high level areas for 6 sockets to be possible.

Well... Lets make them to be dropped only in 66-67 maps maybe? Anyway you have to farm that maps so much, before you get higher lvl maps and you will get back to 66-67 again because high lvl maps can not drop a higher map, or can not drop a map at all or if it dropped it can be 66 map to be dropped in 70 lvl map. So every new player will have to fqarm 66-67 maps a lot.

Besides items like gloves, boots, helmets, jewelery dont need high lvl area to be 4 socketed. Devs could raise chances to drop for them in acts bosses.

But lower chances in high lvl maps for uniques but lets us see only only good uniques not for leveling. This way would be better for me and I will have so much more emotions if I found a unique in 70 lvl map even if that was a single unique in a week farming.
If I dont reply to you - I dont give a flying duck about your opinion

If you dont reply to me - I dont care either because I dont come back to see who replied to me

Trade in PoE would be better without 3rd party sites. People would have to actually barter with one another just like they did back in D2 for the most part.

But people really couldn't handle the orbs in PoE when it hit open beta... It was pathetic to see how people needed a website to tell them what things should be worth.

But that's how auction houses have changed games these days. People no longer value things themselves, they need a website to tell them how to value something.
