Bad loot - a response

i dont find too many people complaining about loot. this game is a higher age level i THINK. So most can understand yes you may get super lucky with an item, but it is not the only way to make money. Vendoring crap gets alts, 14 - 1c, finding odd stuff most notably fusing orbs, selling decent yellows this is what gets you money when you do not which you most likely wont find a very rare unique. Very rare unique. 1-10 million rare.

If you play a lottery in RL, and after a month of playing you probably won't win, would you spread your nonsense about lottery also? Complaining to the xyz that you didn't win and that lottery sucks?

Path of Exile isn't supposed to be a lottery. I don't expect to reach end-game after 1 month with a character, but after 6 months of continuous playing (evenings only, I have a job) I would expect to reach end-game, and by that I don't mean 66 maps, I mean Bringer of Rain level items and level 73 maps at least.

People in one week races and new leagues can hit 73 bringer of rain level items.

Either they are blessed with RNG magically every single race and season or you need to up your efficiency. .

Sorry, I don't think my "efficiency" has anything to do with it. I choose not to run MF characters because I want my characters to be as strong as possible, and going MF would reduce my strength "now".

I've been playing since closed beta and have NEVER had an item as good as Bringer of Rain drop. So yeah, maybe you can say the "select few" who have had such a good item drop during their week race where they play non-stop for an entire week - deserve a good item.

What about the rest of us who have been playing for over 10 months without any decent drops?

The problem starts with the trade system, really. The trade system is a nasty excuse for the devs to balance loot around trade instead of around gear that actually drops for you.

Remove the trade system entirely across all leagues permanently and compensate by significantly buffing good item drops. A lot more people would be happy this way. And no, it wouldn't make the game a lot shorter. PoE is based around constantly re-rolling new characters, so you'd still have well over a year of re-rolling and constant fun. When the fun runs dry? Well GGG is constantly adding new content, so it shouldn't have to run dry.

You have honestly not put very much time into this game at all. It's easy for the first few months to maintain this kind of attitude. Go 6 months without something and see how you feel then.

Get 100% quantity on gear and run blue lvl 66 maps solo for 2 hours/day. Pick up all currency, all 3-linked 3 colored items, all 6-sockets, all rares, all uniques. Do the unidentified 20% quality chaos recipe. Do the straight flush recipe with vendor trash uniques. Put "decent rares in a shop", preferable with ~b/o tags. If someone whisper to you while you farm, take a break to make the trade, then back to farm. Learn the exalt rates. Trade all currency to exalts.

Loot is fine, you'll see.

People buy your lucky drops and you buy theirs.

that 3 chaos recipe is going to burn through a _lot_ of scraps. and those are one of the few things i actually use for "crafting". rares + superior are not very common at all.

you have to trade, and a lot of us would rather play.

I do not trade to run that recipe. As I mentioned, I use 100%+ IIQ. Scraps and blacksmiths drop frequently. Superior rares are also not as uncommon as you think they are. My bottle neck is still rings and amulets.
I'm a solo self founder that doesn't use vendor recipes and doesn't allow one character to farm for another, that's just what I find fun and challenging, and the only thing gating my characters are getting the correct 4 link base chests to drop which takes like a couple hours of farming catacombs tops and I still can comfortably do maps in shit random gear. Honestly i don't even worry about some of my items being white until act 3 cruel when the difficulty really ramps up. At which point I farm catacombs until 60 and then just faceroll to merc fellshrine.

Anyway, point is drops really are fine. You don't need the current fotm uniques to do endgame content and if you feel like drops are gating your character it's probably an issue with your build.

the superior rare drop scheme is really only practical for players with an exceptionally high volume of rares and the capacity to store them.

not only do the rares have to be superior , but they have to be better than 10% or you don't really gain anything from the stones and scraps investment. it is simply not practical for normal people.

i have 60 stash tabs , and get on average 30 -40 rares per piety kill, and i still do not bother with such a recipe
i run dominus low life kaoms 574iir/135iiq------86kdps heavy strike i have found 20-25 bor's, had a soul taker and bor drop at same time over 200exalts in other uniques, probably 100ex+ in rares. i average around 22-28 runs an hour.

So... your suggestion is that you use 3 stacks of scraps/whetstones (1 chaos/stack) to make a recipe worth 3 chaos?

Wow, I can see how you're rich :-)
