Bad loot - a response

GGG should implement a time-based reward system:

100 hrs played:

You earn 100 Chromatic Orbs

250 hrs played:

You earn 100 Chaos Orbs

500 hrs played:

You earn 100 Exalted Orbs

1000 hrs played:

You earn a perfectly rolled unique of your choice

2000 hrs played:

You can start a character at level 100, with a item of choice perfectly rolled in each gear slot

These rewards, of course, would be achievable more than once. e.g. for every 100 hours you play, you are awarded 100 Chromatic Orbs

Of just up the % chance of getting good uniques, remove the most idiotic mods and make crafting a bit less painful. Thing is, loot and crafting is made awful to cater to trading. And that significantly reduces "fun" to many a whiner.
A kid playing computer games can never be — and never has been — hardcore.
The game is only "all about trading" if you make it that way.

I have traded a few times for some items I wanted: Goldwyrm, better roll perandus and aurumvorax. I even try to keep an updated shop since I can do it while I'm at work (which I've failed at recently) I've sold maybe 3-4 chaos worth of items from the shop, and bought 7-8 chaos worth.

So trading made up about .1% of my playtime. Although I spend some time at work updating the shop with procurement (but that isn't my time anyway so that doesn't count lol)

And would you look at that I'm still enjoying PoE! How is this possible in a game that is only filled with trade/wealth/economy/insertrandombs/etc??!!

The key to enjoyment is to not EXPECT x drop within x time, this is an ARPG after all. If I happened to find a Voltaxic maybe I would then make an archer, but it doesn't bother me in the least that I don't have one.

I truly don't understand why someone that doesn't enjoy trading (like me) wants to ban other people from doing it. Granted I do solo a lot, but when I do group it's nice to see party members that have crazy gear cause we clear faster, so trade away lol.

Edit: Lol at time-based reward system heh

Ok Rag, so the game stops at level 80?

So theres no more levels after level 80?

Can I not allocate skill points after level 80?

I ENJOY grinding, maybe the game for you ends at level 80, I plan on taking a character to level 100.

The game for me ends when all the fun is gone or when I have completed everything the devs have put in game, this INCLUDES levels.

Please Post your dom/nemesis character and gear please

You know map ends at 78 and dom is level 68? Unless your going to argue that your character should scale with linear progression like 1-70 where you constantly find upgrades when there is LITERALLY no more content until act 4 comes out go ahead.

Why do I need to "post" my gear, I only play nemesis and standard and my latest main rip. If you want to see: My last nemesis char

And to fruther start my argument. I played Nemesis up until like December 8th or so I believe, Then I came to Nemesis.

My current gear:

NOT ONE SINGLE PIECE OF THOSE ITEMS I FOUND MYSELF.

Not only that, 90% of my currency goes towards maps, which after a certain point I just keep having to buy more. Due to the awesome drop rate.

I put in TONS AND TONS AND TONS of man hours playing this over 2 years. On this character, I started fresh on Dom with NOTHING, but I use my "resources" to get what I need because I know drop rates are laughable.

And once again, once I hit level 80 pretty much from the gear I have at that point I NEVER find an upgrade. Ever, and this has been on multiple characters ive taken atleast 8-9 characters to 80+ hc/softcore alike.

You telling me theres no issue? The uniques I have I traded for. The rares I have I have traded for.

If I didn't have MASS SC wealth I probably would have quit because the only way to fund my Dom char was through that. Or through RMTing which I support (I always didnt support RMT either). But I grew up and realised wow, I can grind for 1000 hours and come up empty handed..

Or I can go to work and make well over 15grand in those 1000 hours and satisfy my little heart.

Sorry, but theres a lot wrong here. Players wanting to ENJOY themselves in-game is not the issue either.

Playing the game hsould be fun, but 90% of you never reach the point where you can barely progress your character gear wise because you'd have to win the lottery 7x for an upgrade.

Or youd have to sell 1000 rares for 1-10c for an upgrade.

Hows that fun? Why can't I play, and have a semi ok chance at finding something nice? Why do I have to use 3 different websites and spam trade chat for half of the time I have to play to find some loot?

Whoa, a multiplayer game that revolves around interacting with other players ???

I agree, that sounds like the dumbest idea ever.

Apparently you did find something nice, because you traded whatever you found for whatever you needed.

156/354 IIQ/IIR. Farmed dominus all day yesterday. Found BoR, Belly of the Beast, Meginords and a few unique maps. Today I found alphas howl and kaoms primacy.

Pick up 1 inventory a run. Save belts/amulets/rings for chaos recipe. Make tons in fusing/chaos alone. Any good uniques found is a bonus.

Right, but a system that relies on % does not reward dedication.

Another idea is to make certain bosses drop certain loot. So Merciless Dominus could 100% of the time reward a 6L item. That way the game allows me to have good stuff even though I do not have the time to put into RNG. It would be fair for everyone because everyone would have a 6L item no matter what.

I would suggest to all of you not happy with the game to just go play another game. I started to play in CB, been here on and off. I have been arguing these same issues with THE SAME EXACT PEOPLE FOR YEARS. There is a group of hardcore defenders that get together and act like everything is fine and anyone with a valid complaint is a whiny casual that wasnts everything handed to them

I find the game extremely unrewarding, and voiced my opinions about it, only to argue with the same handful of people over and over, Good job guys you won POE now has one less player. I have moved on to other games and doubt I will ever come back, and def wont donate another cent. {you dont have to have a fancy supporter title to have donated to the game}

Just find another game, this community is toxic, and the developers think trading/economy is more important then player satisfaction. There is no winning here. Let the game rest in the hole it has dug for itself

OP posts are so full of worst kind elitism, exxageration, lies and putting word in other mouths that is no even funny anymore.

PS. Loot (and not only loot but whole RNGbased stuff) in PoE is just BAD and the game is more trade sim that D3 ever was.
OP is great example of this who can rly enjoy Poe and system designed by GGG and mighty 'i want players to trade not play HnS game" Chris Wilson. Nolifer with lvl 98char that plays 6 hours everyday, probably 90% of time in 6man grups with dedicated MF culler.

Yes. Game is fine. Definitely. ROFL.

Personal opinion, completely irrelevant.

PoE is a trade simulator for the one who chooses it to be, it's not a trade simulator to me nor it is to the most of players in my friend list, because we actually play maps, exchange price checks and continue to do more maps.

And on top of that, we do sell stuff nicely.

Again, personal opinion, not sure if no-lifer is an insult or what, nevertheless, really irrelevant.

I do mixed, play in a rotate party or I host a public party, even more public parties lately.

I'm running with a MF only in a rotate when there is that one player who has MF, which is very rare lately.
Otherwise there aren't any MF-ers in my public party, because they all want free exp, but thanks off topic, enough.

What stops you from playing with a MF-er?

Better luck next time for what frog man? Im sure I have better gear than you do and thats only in 3-4 weeks try time, the problem is I want to find my own shit. Not try and trade for 4 out of the 6 hours I can play and so on.

If you want to play this game self-found, you're going to be disappointed. It's not a perfect game, but what game is? You seem to be having fun, and obviously are having more success than I am. What's the problem?
Look, man. Video games are hard, okay?
