Confirmed realm crashing issue, not a problem with anyones internet connection. There is now a message on the login screen stating the following:

"We're very sorry about the ongoing realm crashes. We're working on a fix, but there will be queues for a little while so that we can get people back onto the realm without further problems."

I am currently queued with 4477 people ahead of me.../sigh

"Realm Crashes", to me, implies that the entire server is crashing and dropping everyone connected to it. What most people here are experiencing seems like more of an individual issue. If, a few minutes ago, I'd gone on #Global and asked "Did everyone else get dropped just now?" There'd likely be a resounding "Yes". Conversely, whenever I get dropped on my own, I ask and everyone says "No, must just be you" or similar.

Again, if the fix they're working on alleviates it, then, wonderful! I just don't think that the problem they're working on is the same one I'm having.

I completely agree. I often play with friends, and i'm the only one to DC. We can talk about how I've dropped again over skype (without our call ever being disrupted) while I reconnect to them in-game.
This tells me it's an issue only some people experience. Wish we knew how to solve it...

UPDATE: Seems when I play with friends, I always DC when trying to kill Merveil. Just entering the cave causes me to lag, then DC. Had no problem when killing her solo. My friends didn't experience any problems for some reason, just me.

It seems prudent to post an update.

As of today, I've only been randomly disconnected once. All *seems* well. Anyone else noticing a change for the better?

Until yesterday's patch, there was little improvement. Played a solid amount yesterday and only disconnected when the rest of the realm went down as well. I'm cautiously optimistic :)

getting something lke high latency idk, cannot click on stuff, when i try to fight monster everything freezes except me, if i al tab it says disconnect....this really needs fixing

well i dc just about every 5-10 mins so the issue is still their and i work for an isp company and i can tell you its not your internet companys its either your windows 7 or 8 settings or their servers cant handle everything and give people random drops all over their isnt anything we can do except wait for them to fix it kinda shitty
