Farewell post~ Great game!

Agree with OP.
I feel this post captures many player frustrations and the issues pointed out are reasons why people leave.
Please continue to improve the game as indicated by the OP.
Thanks,

I agree and could comment on a lot more than I'm going to, but I want to point out that being "overpowered" is not as dangerous as some people think. They must not have played video games for the past 20 years. Remember Diablo 2? I spent probably 50% of my play time on that game wearing Runewords and high end uniques. And it was fun. Played thousands of hours. I know a ton of other people did too. Being super powerful is fun. A lot of older games allow you to achieve incredible power.

Being incredibly powerful doesn't always mean the equivalent of playing through Normal on a level 70 guy. It was very easy to get a strong character in D2 and yet you could still die to random things like Conviction aura Souls, Might Dolls, or what have you.

So, with the exception of invincibility cheats, I agree that you can never really be too powerful in these types of games.

Hit the nail on the head as far as "power" goes. There will ALWAYS be dangers in these types of games, regardless of gear.

Players should be able to gear to the teeth for POWER, and their ability to kill/clear should be the largest contributing factor to how fast they garner wealth...

I've been wanting to say this for so long but just couldn't find the words.

While killing speed should be a factor, it should not be the only thing that matters. Without IIQ/IIR factoring into the item find equation, DPS would be the only thing that matters, which would be bad for the game in my opinion. PoE is an RPG after all. Thinking about your build and equipment, and trying to determine whether or not sacrificing some power/defense for increased IIQ/IIR will improve your item finding needs to be part of the meta game. Otherwise, you are going down the road of becoming a dumbed down game, where no thought or decision making is required and bigger numbers are always better. And then you end up with... the game by the other company which is a pile of garbage.

6)... ARPG's are meant to make you feel godly after X amount of time spent on character planning/development. Does that happen in this game? I'd say yes...

Really kind of curious where X is in PoE.

Honestly? Pretty much as soon as you create/find/accumulate high end uniques/rares that make various builds possible. Or any great 5L+ armor. You can do maps with less, but there is a specific "break" point where you know your character has entered the upper echelon if you ask me.

I meant as X amount of time wasted. I know, it wasn't clear.

X = 100 hours? 500? 2000? 5000?
