Desync is leaps and bounds better than it was at the start of OB.

I'd be shocked if it doesn't continue to improve.

What game are you playing? It's gotten continuously worse..

Compare the twitch streams during OB to twitch streams now and tell me there's as much desync as there was, let alone that it's getting worse. Almost every race death was actually due to desync. Server hiccups have gotten better and worse at times, maybe, but that's not desync.

It might also be that your ISP is screwing you over.

That said, i disagree with pretty much everything else the OP said. Randomness is part of the game. The crafting system is fine the way it is, so are map drop rates.
I also really disagree with the statement that players should become "overpowered" at some point. The game isn't fun if you just faceroll everything. I think PoE does a really good job to keep the game challenging for a long time. The sense of making progress is more important than feeling "powerful" in my opinion.

Making stuff take LONGER to achieve not really a challenge. All you do is put more time to grind for it. To be able to put more time than other player is a great effort but not everyone could put up with such effort. I got work on the day and few hours to play at night. Are you telling me that i shouldn't get great item because of that?

I agree with you. It appears to be the opinion of at least a few people here that you should be unable to get a great item unless you treat PoE as a full-time job (or even more than that).

I have played this game since open beta and have no plans to quit in the foreseeable future and yet I approve all of these points. Also I hate MF too. But I don't think it should be dismissed. I actually like the way D3 did it where it rewarded players who put more time into their characters by giving them more magic find every level after the lvl 100. This would also encourage players to play characters further into maps if there was that extra temptation. All I'm saying is MF on gear is annoying, but I like the concept of MF in general, but I think it should be a reward for something, not a stat on gear that is to be built up on a "MF" character.

EDIT: This post was removed by accident. Seems this thread heated up pretty quickly. Hope my post will add something to the discussion without derailing it further.

To the OP:

Good message and intelligently stated, I agree with most of what your saying and Im not far from moving on also. Good game, just feels too much like going to work in a McDonalds and then heading out to the Casino.

This made me laugh.

The game feels like an MMO because the loot is gated behind maps which is counter intuitive to an ARPG. Every MMO today since WoW gates their loot behind tiers, what we have in PoE is a tier loot system(gated by I.lvls) and the highest level zones in the game are gated behind the map system that is dependent on trading/RNG.

I think endgame access based around RNG is an atrocious idea. Maps in my opinion completely disrupt the flow of the game.

I agree. I think the whole idea of having diminishing returns to the point of tedium and ridiculousness (the current max lvl and map system) is poor design. I think that max level should be attainable in games like this. It should be difficult and take hundreds of hours but it should be fun and rewarding. The current system where even in non-hardcore leagues, a death at high levels feels like a hardcore death is just unacceptable. Weeks of playing to gain one level just to get maybe a +10 str or 8% life node. And for what? To just inch closer and closer to your inevitable giving up. But I digress. I would be much happier with an attainable max level, a less RNG dependent end game (aka not having to battle XP penalties as if the higher levels werent already tedious enough) and a fix to the death penalty at higher levels. It feels right to be punished 10% XP at level 75 but at 85 you might as well just have it be a HC death at that rate. THe amount of XP lost at high levels is so rediculous that most of the time it's just not worth it to continue. This completely breaks the spirit of the non-hardcore leagues.

I couldn't read beyond this. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Good luck in other games.
