Fusing Horror Stories
" See, this is interesting; I CAN grind Dom solo, and this is actually based on that/his drop. I get about 6-7 alts per run from him. IIQ doesn't really exist in Domination. This is a major part of the problem. I can stack up tons of IIR, but have only 10% IIQ from my belt. Still, I get enough rares that I have to use my portal gem 2-3 times to sell it all off. You cannot make that many, because I have to wait for the instance to reset. I have run both Dom then Piety back to back, and Doms' palace still not been reset after running Piety. That IS the speed I'm going at, so I have a really hard time believing this, unless the IIQ, which is basically unavailable for Domination makes THAT big a difference. I often have to sit in town, go make a coffee, whatever while waiting for both instances to reset. Side note, at the speeds I'm going at, I feel like this is an Asian-gold-farming simulator. That and 2-3 hours is a fairly large play-time for most folks. Last edited by gr00grams#5298 on Feb 3, 2014, 1:47:20 PM

" Once again, no. If you farmed at the speed I do, you would understand why this doesn't work; The 'Upper' Scepter of God, is not tied to the 'Scepter' of God. It resets only in time. The 'Lunaris Temple 2' doesn't reset the 'Lunaris Temple 3' either. Basically, the floors Dominus/Piety are on, do not reset with a ctrl+click, and it does not take me enough time clearing the lower levels to reach their floors again, which haven't reset. I have to force myself to slow down, or take breaks (like writing this post tbh...) because of the timers. I have the tile-sets of these areas near memorized, and can pretty much just run through them to the right area by what I see on screen, even with the pseudo-randomization. I am still limited by instance reset timers. The portals in are not the areas they are in, and thus ctrl+click doesn't work. As for the boots, yes I can wear them, and Sadima vs Aursize? Hard debate the latter, but those are pretty much all we have in Dom for IIQ. Last edited by gr00grams#5298 on Feb 3, 2014, 2:32:59 PM

" No problem, Now you have to see how much faster you can id/sort/sell off the crap rares and sort shards in inventory. Then theres the dilemma of what to do with all the shitty uniques that waste time too... |

" One of the small benefits of being self-found, solo. Basically, I run a small shop here I update at end of day, pretty much everything for 1c. If someone calls me in-game, I sell said item. Keep good unique items I find, if I find any. Otherwise, vendor them all. Can't be bothered. |

I would suggest GGG to slightly revise their fusing system just a tad bit. Let say you have 4-linked a six socket armor and when you apply a fuse to it again, the result should not be sub 4-linked. Make the chance of going to 4-link to 5-link as rare as before and the final link from 5-link to 6-link as impossible as before. ie. Once you have a 5-link and want to go to 6-link. Make the final link with a possibility of connecting with a chance of 1/1000000 ( i pulled this number out of my ass). Players may not be able to make progress after spending /X amount of fusings but at least they are not going backwards and still be able to use their equipment.
I notice that most of the frustration from gamers is that they may have been trying to six-link something and after spending 2000 fuses(!) they might potentially end up with no-link at all! This is one of the main items that cause players to quit. (2000 fuses takes 1-2 weeks minimum to acheive?) Another item is, people usually have 1 set of good equipment. If what they have is already 5-linked, a lot of players will choose to just leave their stuff as 5-linked instead of risking destroying their equipment via gambling for a six link again. I am one of those players and it is immensely frustrating. By maintaining previous fuse counts will alleviate a lot of players' annoyance but keeping the rarity level of achieving 4L-5L and 5L-6L makes 6L items as valuable as before. thanks, |
